Your internships, work experience, and extra responsibilities tell a bigger story about you. They show whether you took initiative or just followed the usual path.

2. Your clarity of purpose

Colleges want to understand why you genuinely want to pursue an MBA now. Clarity shows maturity, seriousness, and that you value the opportunity deeply.

3. Your performance in the interview

Your communication, confidence, and honesty play a very important role here. This is where colleges see the person beyond the numbers.

I have seen people convert top colleges with average percentiles and strong overall profiles.

And I have seen high percentiles fail because they couldn’t justify their story well.

Your percentile opens the door.

My Management Development Institute, Gurgaon Interview Experience! 💯

So my interview happened late in the month of April, and I went to Kolkata to give my interview.

The interview started with my city and the place I belong to, its background, and how it has shaped my thinking and exposure.

Broadly, my interview revolved around five key areas:

1. My city and roots

2. My work experience (the most important part)

3. The projects I worked on during my professional journey

4. Hypothetical situations based on my work, to judge my perspective and decision-making

5. LinkedIn and content creation

After the interview and later seeing my name on the final shortlist, I think these are the things that actually worked in my favor.

1️⃣ Storytelling.
I had thought through my journey well. I knew what could be asked and structured my answers like stories, not explanations.

2️⃣ Communication and Confidence.
Clear articulation of thoughts and being confident while speaking mattered more than having “perfect” answers.

3️⃣ Steering the conversation wisely.
I consciously used words, examples, and topics I was comfortable with, subtly guiding the interview in a direction where I could add more value.

Overall, the interview felt less like an interrogation and more like a conversation and that made all the difference.

You don’t need to have it all figured out to move forward.

How I Cracked an Internship at Paytm? (Long and Detailed Post) 💯

The question that has been asked to me by almost every mentee or student with whom I interact.

Let me break it down for you all.

The strategy which I followed when I cracked Paytm was, I used to connect with relevant people from the industry on LinkedIn on a daily basis.

To be specific, HRs/Managers/Analysts are the ones, whom I connected with as they are the ones who generally hire interns.

You will not believe this, but I did it for almost 60-70 days before getting a positive response.

One day (9th Dec 2021, how can I forget the date) when I was scrolling my LinkedIn feed in the afternoon, I saw a post from the HR saying, Paytm is hiring for xyz profile and interested ones can mail their resume to xyz mail id.

Then what, I immediately mailed my resume (and cover letter ofc) to the mail id given.

Only after a few hours, the concerned person from the company reached out to me and I had my interview.

And you know what?

After another few hours, I had my offer with me and that's how I got into Paytm! ❤️

Never thought it would be this unexpected, but as we say, you never know what's coming your way.

That's why it becomes important for you to connect with more and more relevant people so that you never miss an opportunity that someone have for you.

Sticking to the process without getting a result is not an easy task but I have always been a strong supporter of the quote, "Process is more important than the destination".

And your belief is nothing if you don't follow them. Though it took me more than 60 days, but I never thought of quitting.

Also, the habit of doing important things immediately helped me a lot. Think, If I would have not mailed my resume immediately and kept it for later, the results would have been different.

Opened it.

And I smiled. Because this is sharp.

Valentine’s Day is all about pressure, last-minute plans, gift panic, expectations. And instead of pushing a loud ad, this campaign quietly sits on a random car and speaks exactly to that moment.

No heavy branding. No forced CTA. Just insight + timing.

Smart, hyper-local, relatable marketing always stands out.

Didn’t expect a parked car to teach a branding lesson. But here we are! 💯
