I just moved from Bangalore to London on a fully sponsored writing job. Here's my story so far:

Age 17: did 4 internships in a gap year before my undergrad
Age 18: started writing online on Instagram, Medium, and LinkedIn
Age 19: signed my first ghostwriting client
Age 20: graduated uni with first-class distinction
Age 21: one of the youngest members of LI's creator accelerator, got paid lakhs to write here (wild)
Age 22: beat 700+ people to get my dream job in personal branding
Age 23: dropped out of a Masters degree from KCL
Age 24: moved back to London for work

I've had quite the unconventional story. 

The fact I'm the proudest of isn't any of the "achievements" but that I did it all my way.

I write mostly to my younger self. 

My journey is an example of how your life can change if you refuse to conform and earn the right to play your own game.

Today, the clients I work with at my job are multi-millionaires dominating their industries. I'm lucky I get paid to learn from them everyday.

Luxuries most people don’t realise they have:

1. Having your parents still alive
2. A partner who always backs you
3. A full belly
4. Clean water running through your taps
5. Enough in the bank to not worry about rent
6. Your limbs work flawlessly
7. Doing work you like
8. Paid time off

We’re all luckier than we realise.

3 simple rules I’ve set for myself for a good year:

- With a good habit you’re trying to adopt, never miss two days in a row. Once is a mistake, twice is a pattern, thrice is a new habit.

- Do what you say you’re going to do. Forget about other people, this is how you teach YOUR own mind that you’re someone worth talking seriously.

- If anything harms my health, I want no part of it. “You only live once” should never be an excuse for unhealthy coping mechanisms. You get one life, so take care of yourself.

What’s one rule you’ve set for yourself in 2026?

The older I get, the more I realise that my parents were right all along.

A good life to me today is:

- Eating more home-cooked food
- Reading/learning continually
- Playing every evening
- Using my phone less 
- Drinking less soda
- Going to bed early
- Working hard
- Being honest

All the things my parents tried to get me to do as a kid.

Funny how life comes full circle!

The superflu is no joke.

Last Tuesday, I proudly announced to Sam G. Winsbury  “I’m going to try to not take a single sick day in 2026”

Next day, I got the flu and had 104 degree fever for the whole week.

I couldn’t get out of bed for days.
I lost 4 kgs in 6 days.
I didn’t have enough strength to even stand in the shower.
I dissapeared from LinkedIn for the first time ever.

All this isn’t to say “wow pls cry for me”.

The point is that you can have the best of intentions but…

When your health breaks, when life comes for you, every plan goes out the window.

Then, you gotta adapt and readjust.

Life will never follow your script, but hey - isn’t that what makes it worth living?

14: Wrote my first words online (WordPress blog).
15: Quit my pursuit of professional Badminton in Bangalore.
16: Started making money for the first time, working for myself.
17: Did 35 model UNs in one year, won at some.
18: Took a gap year to do internships and get formal work-ex.

19: started writing on Instagram.
20: miserable in undergrad, being taught outdated stuff.
21: started writing on Medium and signed my first ghostwriting client.

22: somehow graduated with first-class distinction.
23: LinkedIn paid me $2500 to write on the platform, wild times.

24: got into King's College for post-grad and moved to London.
24: was disappointed at the calibre, dropped out, and moved back home.
24: ended a long-term relationship I knew was wrong for me.
24: started working my dream role at my dream company.

25: moved back to London for work on a sponsored visa.

29/01/26 - writing this post at 6 am before starting work in one of my all-time most hectic weeks.

Growing up, all I heard was:

"Writers are starving artists"
"Stop posting everything online"
"You'll never amount to anything if you don't study".

I begrudgingly listened for a few years.

Then I realised:
If I don't want their life, why am I taking their advice?

The takeaways from my journey:

1. Try lots of things, something is bound to stick.
2. You can have the best plan, but life will still surprise you.
3. You're capable of building the life you want - if you put in the work.

Every single positive outcome in my life was born out of a single decision I made.

From the job I work to the city I live in to the people I know, 

It was all shaped by one choice:
Building my personal brand.

Most people think a personal brand is about followers.
It’s not.
A personal brand is leverage.
And leverage touches every goal in your life.

➡️ Career?
Your brand speaks before you enter the room.
Opportunities find you - jobs, clients, partnerships, because people already trust your thinking.

➡️ Money?
When people know what you stand for, they’re willing to pay for your perspective.
They’re more willing to pay not just for your time.
But also your point of view.

➡️ Freedom?
A strong personal brand gives you options.
You choose who you work with, what you say yes to, and where you spend your energy.

➡️ Confidence?
When you articulate your ideas publicly, you stop second-guessing yourself privately.
And clarity creates confidence.

➡️ Impact?
Your experiences don’t just stay experiences.
They become lessons that help other people move faster, avoid mistakes, and believe in themselves.

But here’s the real truth most people miss:
You already have a personal brand.

The only question is - 
are you shaping it intentionally…
or letting others define it for you?

So build your personal brand.

Not for attention.

But for everything else - better career, higher income, more freedom, and deeper relationships, that visibility unlocks.

As a young person, you have two choices.

Live it up in your 20s.
Travel. Party. Say yes to everything.
Stretch adolescence a little longer.

Or put your head down early.
Work when others are playing.
Build skills, discipline, and direction while you still have the most energy to do so.

Neither path is WRONG.
But they do compound very differently.

One optimises for memories now, and optionality later - often with more pressure, more catching up, more trade-offs in your 30s.

The other delays gratification.
It looks boring from the outside.
But it buys leverage: confidence, competence, and freedom that most people only start chasing a decade later.

What people don’t say enough is this:

You don’t magically “figure it out” with age.
You inherit the consequences of how you spent your time.

The real question isn’t fun vs grind.

It’s: WHEN do you want life to feel lighter?

I’m choosing to build early, so future me doesn’t have to sprint forever.

What are you choosing?

You trust the bartender to not spit in your drink.

You trust the pilot to not crash the plane.

You trust the doctor operating on you to not be a fraud.

You trust your barber to not mess up your hair.

You trust the barista to make your coffee properly.

Then tell me, my friend, why do you refuse to trust that you're capable of more?

Why do you refuse to believe you can achieve your wildest goals?

If you can trust strangers blindly, you can back yourself to build the life you want!

A day in my life as a 25-year-old in London (21/01/26) 👇🏻

- Up at 7 am, usually an early riser but it’s my first winter here and it’s been harder to wake up early lately.

- Coffee, quick meditation, and at my desk by 8.30 am

- Start my day by writing my LinkedIn content before anything else and commenting on the team’s posts

- Leave from home as we’re having a co-working day in Paddington, 35 mins on the tube door to door

- Get to the coffee shop at 10 am and meet a couple of colleagues, we work remotely, but it’s always nice to catch up in person, the vibes are good, plus working in person pushes me to work harder

- I’m nervous to take a client call at 11.30 because it’s a new client and I usually avoid doing meetings when I’m working out of public spaces, thankfully the cafe wasn’t too noisy so the call went well

- Break at 12.30 for lunch with my colleagues, over lunch we talk about workout routines, the company's 2026 strategy, a few problem clients, and where we see the industry heading - we’re all obsessed with what we do

- Back to work at the restaurant we were lunching at, it’s a nice quiet spot and we were the only ones there, so it was the perfect spot to work from

- Around 4.30 pm we wind up for the day to avoid the rush hour on our way back home, on my way back I do a food shop because the nice supermarket I like getting my groceries from is closeby. I also grab a quick pain au chocolat as a pre-workout snack

- Back home an hour later, quick call to catch up with family and then it’s time to get a lift in with my friends, it’s super convenient having a gym in my building so no excuses of “I’m too tired to get out of the house”.

- Dinner at 8 pm, my friend made curry so I shamelessly steal some from her and heat up frozen naans

- 9 pm: I do the dishes, watch a little bit of Netflix (just finished a show called Run Away), and in bed for 10 pm

📷 On days that I feel a little homesick, happening days like these make me glad I took the leap of moving away from my hometown. Still hard being away from my loved ones though.

But that’s a day in my life, what do your days look like?

A perk of my job is I get to pick the brains of the top 1% performers daily.

A surprising pattern I’ve noticed in them is:

They have ridiculously boring habits.

They do the same things over and over again,
Longer than would be considered reasonable by most others.

The top 1% prioritise the simple things like being up early, reading, exercising consistently, and so on.

From the outside, it’s easy to assume your idols live a super happening, exciting life.

And maybe they do - at times.

But most of their days, and how they got where they were in the first place, is by doing the boring things right consistently.

Excitement is overrated in the pursuit of excellence.

I’ve never been told by someone more successful than me to have more work life balance and take it easy.

I’ve never been told by someone fitter than me that I need to let loose and eat out more and drink more with them.

I’ve never been told by someone wealthier than me that I need to buy more designer brands and spend more than I make.

Coincidence? I doubt it.

I can’t believe I’ll log into work on Monday and not see a familiar face.

We’ve never agreed on everything but we’ve never had to.

I’m going to miss us bickering so much!!! 🫣😆

We’re sad to be losing you Megan Bishop but also so happy for you as you head off on your next adventure. You’re doing something equal parts terrifying and exciting. We know some days are sh!t and chaotic but we’re so proud of you - now and always ❤️

This isn’t goodbye but an “until next time” 🥂

The fastest hack for behaviour change is controlling your environment.

If you don’t get liquor home, you’re less likely to drink.

If your friends work out, you’re more likely to go to the gym.

If you hang around smokers, you’re more likely to smoke.

Control who and what you allow around yourself.

Behaviour change is downstream from the right environment.

I’ve been so much better with my habits once I got clear on what my bare minimum looks like.

When I’m sick and can’t get to the gym, I try going on just a short walk after a meal.

When I’m unmotivated and don’t feel like creating content, I fire off a quick tweet and I’m done for the day.

When I’m tired and don’t feel like doing my skincare routine, I just put moisturiser and call it.

When I’m lazy and don’t feel like working, I do the tasks that HAVE to get done that day and finish up.

The goal isn’t perfect consistency.

It’s to have no zero days.

What version of the habit can you manage to do even on your worst days? 

That’s what you’ve to figure out to make a habit stick.

Sunday reminder: do hard things to feel good about yourself.

My 2026 motto: say yes more.

Last year was a lot - I moved countries, juggled a demanding job with hobbies like sports and content creation, as well as maintained my existing close relationships.

As a consequence, however, I said no to most other things.

Going to events, meeting new people, travelling more, new interests - everything took a backseat.

And I’m glad I did that and narrowed my focus to prioritise the most essential.

But saying no to everything won’t serve me well in this next phase.

I didn’t move to London to be in a shell.

So I’m saying “yes” more this year.

I’m realistic though, as an introvert, most things still don’t appeal to me.

I like my own little world and simple daily routine.

But every now and then, I’m pushing myself to do new things, meet new people, and have new experiences.

I’m more open to widening my perspective and changing my opinion on things.

Let’s see how it works out.

Being healthy is actually really simple: 

Sleep enough, drink less and don’t smoke, eat nutritious food, do work that fulfils you, and stay away from toxic people. 

Doing just these basics right will already put you ahead of 99% of the crowd. 

Don’t overcomplicate it.

January was the longest 6 months of my life.

I start every week by studying virality on LinkedIn.

Every Monday on our team standup, Bruce Martinus and I break down a high-performing post for the rest of the team.

We do this because:

- It teaches the rest of the team at the agency how to reverse engineer viral content, even if that might not be their core role.

- It keeps us sharp and helps us keep our ears close to the ground.

- Social platforms are constantly evolving, what worked last week might not work this week, so if you're not keeping up with the platforms, you'll get left behind.

I've been in the personal branding space for years and have written thousands of posts, hundreds of viral ones.

Yet I still learn new things about LinkedIn every single day.

I don’t know how many remember that I said I will buy my 1st car in 2025.

And honestly, with the amount of profits I was generating last year, it was next to impossible to even think about buying a car.

My mother told me that it's impossible to buy a car in 1 year.

A lot of people said, “Are you stupid?”

But I also had friends who said, “Shruti, everything is possible if you dream about things.”

It has been on my checklist since last year. 

I am just grateful that now I can proudly say that if I say I can do it, I do it, regardless of anything else.

I really don't know how the Universe aligns for me every time I promise something to myself.

If I was a 20-year-old Shruti, I would have looked at a girl like me and said, “Ohh, she is lucky! How can she own a car in just 1.5 years of building her business?”

Yes, I would have called her lucky, without thinking about the hard work behind that feat.

PS: I thought I was on cloud nine after buying a car, but I am not feeling the sense of joy I imagined. I just feel elated when I see my father driving it. Materialistic things don’t make me happy anymore; it’s just the use of them that’s delightful.

Just got done with my first ever offline session… and I don’t even know how to put this into words.

Today was very special for me.

I booked my car in December 2025 to get the benefits of year-end offers that car dealers usually have.

But it literally took me 16–20 days to get the car delivered to my home.

Its because, I had to go through the grind of getting a loan, which was extremely frustrating.

According to Mint, India's gig economy has surged to 12 million workers in FY 2024-25. But since it is highly unregulated, I struggled to get a loan for my car.

For the last 1.5 years, I have been working on a contract basis with each client of mine. The entire business has grown and we are now a team of 5 members.

My biggest issue was, I didn’t have Form 16, salary slips, a payroll contract, no employer, no history, and no CIBIL score.

So a lot of banks refused to give me a loan.

My bank said, “We can give you a loan against a fixed deposit.”

But that meant I had to put down the same money as FD that I anyway needed for the down payment.

Emails, invoices, retainers, UPI payments, client contracts, none of these are considered as “proof” of work.

So, it’s very important to do a few things as a freelancer.  I will be covering each of them in the next few days since its impossible to cover everything in one post.

I hope nobody makes the mistakes I did as a freelancer.

My life in college would have more structure.

Here it goes… 
↳ You will have to read & write a lot. 
↳ You must know the basics of MS Word. 
↳ You don't need to buy books every semester. 
↳ You will need a laptop almost every single day. 
↳ Forget the answer writing style you learned in school. 
↳ Start preparing for your internships months in advance. 
↳ Gel with local students if you are moving to a different city. 
↳ Reach out to seniors and leave all the shyness at home. 
↳ Participate in as many internships as possible from DAY 1. 
↳ You can start earning money through freelancing in college.

I graduated in 2023. But I started working in 2020.

Yes, I started making money in 2020 during COVID.

My learning started in 2020 and not in 2018, when I joined law college.

I started with writing legal articles, then switched to reviewing those articles and doing fact-checking for all the articles.
After a point, I started training writers and reviewers in the team.

The amount of things I learnt about:

was immense and immeasurable...

Later, when I switched to building my own business, I saw the gap of what would have happened if I had known all of this during law school.

My internships would have been so much better. I would have made much more money.

But as they say, things happen when they are meant to happen.

I know a lot of you will hate me for this, but it's the hard truth.

I have consciously removed a lot of people from my life.

Some were toxic
Some were selfish
Some were disrespectful
Some were adding no value to my life.

All of them had one thing in common:
"They were just bad for my future self."

I couldn’t tolerate them any further.
I don't need unnecessary drama now.
They were draining my energy and peace.

It has happened because:

I have outgrown people in my life.
I don’t relate to them anymore.
I have changed as a person.

So, I don’t want to blame them completely!

It’s difficult for me to break some of my biases.
I always believed that I needed to build ties for eternity.

I felt responsible for maintaining all friendships for life.
I accepted a few things that went beyond my beliefs.
This was draining me mentally every day.

But this ‘new me’ has given me the confidence to spend time with people I want to and consciously remove those I don’t like.

So, if you’re on the same page as me, “I get you, man!”
Cut those people off before it's too late.
Choose yourself before anyone else.

If you hate posting content on LinkedIn, then you can be a part of the no-posting club.

It’s not a sin, you can still come up with a strategy that can help you land a decent internship/job/client.

Most people assume LinkedIn works only if you post every day.
It’s not entirely true!

Then, what can you do? (Read below!)

1. Profile Optimisation (Non-Negotiable)

When people visit your profile, they decide in 3–5 seconds if you are relevant.

Make sure your profile clearly answers:
✅ What do you do?
✅ What industries/roles are you targeting?
✅ What value do you bring?

Also, make your About section outcome-oriented.

2. Interaction Strategy (Comments > Posts)

If you don’t want to post, you can still be visible.

Comment on posts by:
✔ founders
✔ hiring managers
✔ recruiters
✔ seniors in your target industry
✔ alumni

Helpful comments → profile visits → connections → opportunities.

3. DMs (The Best Strategy to Build a Network)

Most people never DM.
Start conversations with people.

You can DM to:
→ ask for advice
→ ask for referrals
→ share your work/portfolio
→ show interest in a role

DMs work especially well when supported by a strong profile.

There are many more things, but I really don’t want to load you with an insane amount of work. And if you’re confused, you can DM me or book a call through my profile section.

I never knew that freelancers/gig workers can register themselves to get some form of credibility until I had to go through the struggle of proving my business while applying for a loan.

Let’s discuss the 2nd problem of “The Credit Gap Series for Gig Workers”

Get a Udyam Certificate

A Udyam Certificate is the official government-recognized registration for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) issued by the Ministry of MSME in India. Once registered, you receive a unique Udyam Registration Number and certificate that proves your business exists and operates legally.

How it helps you (especially as a freelancer/gig worker):

(1) Official business identity
Udyam registration gives your freelance business an official identity that lenders easily recognize. It shows that you’re running a real enterprise rather than informal gigs. This makes your loan applications more credible because banks and NBFCs can verify your business details through the certificate.

(2) Easier access to loans
With Udyam registration, many banks and financial institutions offer priority business loans or special MSME loan schemes. Some of these are even collateral-free, meaning you might not need to pledge assets for a loan.

(3) Lower interest and better terms
Registered MSMEs can sometimes access loans at lower interest rates and with fewer documentation hurdles compared to unregistered small businesses. This reduces the cost of borrowing and speeds up approvals.

(4) Government schemes & subsidies
Udyam registration makes you eligible for various government-backed credit and subsidy schemes, which can further lower lending costs or provide special credit support designed for small enterprises.

(5) Trust with financial institutions
Lenders often see Udyam registration as a sign that your business is established and serious, making them more willing to consider your credit applications even without traditional salaried documentation.

Udyam registration doesn’t magically guarantee a loan, but it significantly strengthens your financial profile. It gives lenders a government-trusted way to verify your business, improves your access to credit products, and opens doors to schemes that aren’t available to unregistered freelancers.

How can you convert your normal internship into an assessment internship as a law student?

It will happen when you start thinking like a lawyer and not like a law student.

You need to make that shift. And until you do, you’ll keep doing “intern” work, not real legal work.

Here’s what that shift looks like:

1. From “Understanding the Law” → “Applying the Law”
As a student, you are taught to interpret sections and memorise case laws.
But as a lawyer, you must ask:
→ Does this apply to my client’s case?
→ Which jurisdiction does this fall under?
→ Is this even relevant in this factual scenario?

2. From “Perfect Answers” → “Practical Solutions”
The goal isn't to impress the professor.
It's to give the client a workable, timely, and low-risk way forward.

3. From “Marks” → “Client Outcomes”
Your 10/10 won’t serve the client.
What matters:
→ Was the compliance clear?
→ Did the draft protect the client?
→ Did your input reduce future risk?

4. From “Learning Mode” → “Ownership Mode”
Interns who just “wait for tasks” don’t stand out.
Interns who ask “What more can I do?” do.

5. From “Fear of Being Wrong” → “Confidence in Decision-Making”
You won’t always have all the facts.
But you still need to suggest something.
Identify all the problems that may arise and offer solutions.

6. From “Solo Study” → “Client and Team Collaboration”
You usually study for your exams in isolation.
Law practice is more collaborative and business-driven.
Communication, empathy, and managing expectations are core skills—not soft skills.

Next time you look at a statute or case law, don’t ask: “Where can I use this in my answer?”

Ask your teacher: “Will this help solve a real legal problem?”

Why ‘Newsletters’ aren’t a hot topic in Legal Marketing

Firstly, what is a Newsletter?
A newsletter is a regular publication, printed or electronic, that delivers curated information directly to subscribers. In the modern digital era, most newsletters arrive via email and serve as a direct bridge between a brand and its audience. 

At their heart, newsletters create ongoing dialogue between the sender and the reader. It's more of a more personal space where readers are already primed to receive information.

Few reasons why they won’t be working for you:
1. Newsletters aren’t ‘Flashy’ or ‘Trendy;
2. They require consistency and discipline
3. People don’t always understand them

Why 2026 is different for Newsletters

3 structural things changed in the last 3 years:

(1) Attention is fragmented
People don’t read “long updates,” they skim and save.

(2) Inboxes are algorithmically filtered
Gmail/Outlook now reduce corporate deliverability for low-engagement sends.

(3) Buyers are more educated
Founders, GCs, CFOs, investors consume legal content already, so fluff doesn’t fly anymore.

So what needs to change for newsletters to work for law firms & companies in 2026?

1. Move from Broadcast → Utility

Old newsletters were:
- “Here’s what happened.”

2026 newsletters must be:
- “Here’s what you should do because of what happened.”
Shift: Information → Interpretation → Action

(Clients pay for sense-making, not headlines.)

2. Move from Firm-Centric → Reader-Centric

Stop saying:
- “We attended this event”
- “Our partner spoke”
- “We won an award”

Readers don’t care.
2026 format must answer:
“How does this help ME?”

This one shift increases retention 3–5×.

3. Move from General Audience → Segmented Readers

Most law firm newsletters are one list for everyone.
Wrong.

In 2026, lists must segment by:
✔ role (founder/GC/CFO/HR/Investor)
✔ industry (fintech/SaaS/industrial/manufacturing)
✔ maturity (seed/growth/]enterprise)
✔ geography (India/US/EU/GCC)

Relevance = the new conversion.

Do you have an identity outside your organisation?

I know you would say, Yes I do!

My friends and family know me.
My colleagues and friends know me.
That's it; I don't want to become a celebrity now.

But what if, suddenly, you lose your job?
(I hope that it never happens to anyone.)

But let’s imagine the worst scenario possible.

Nobody knew COVID would come and that we would see so many layoffs. I mean, it's not that layoffs are not happening now.

Imagine being a professional who:
→ worked really hard at an organisation/firm
→ didn't pay attention to building connections
→ consumed themselves with work and didn't have time to upskill/showcase their work

What's left with you?

You are left with only a few people who:
→ actually know you,
→ know how you work, and
→ know your thought process and mindset.

It will feel like a void! Because you didn't build a life outside your work.

Let's imagine, apart from work:
→ You networked immensely,
→ Built a like-minded community,
→ Build your 'Personal Brand' on the side.

Would you have felt the same void?

The whole point I am trying to make is:
↳ Don't make your organisation your whole identity.
↳ Keep learning and upskilling every day.
↳ Interact and talk to new people in and around the world.

I guarantee you will thank your future self!

I found a few LinkedIn profiles extremely cringe. And just to double-check, I sent those profiles to a few of my friends (who are active on the platform) to check if it's just me, or if they also find these profiles cringe.

And they had the same reaction.

“This looks so made up and fake”
“Why are they sounding so weird?”
“Some beginner might be handling their account”
“They are harming their brand instead of building it”

I have seen so many brands being ruined, then built on LinkedIn.

Some similar traits in most of them are:

1/ Unrelated pictures with every post.
2/ The post has no defined conclusion.
3/ An experienced person sounds kiddish.
4/ Use of AI for drafting posts and comments.
5/ Commenting on every post available on LinkedIn.

So, if you find your brand getting ruined by someone, take some action immediately.

As a client, you should outline your requirements clearly.
Lay down your expectations. Don’t fall for anything.
Sit, discuss and clarify. Respect your brand!

Stop obsessing over big names on your CV.

I know a Tier 1 Law Firm internship may sound great on your CV.

But is it really enough?
What if you haven’t done one?

I never did a Tier 1 Law Firm internship in my college.

But it doesn’t mean I didn’t get a job offer from a Tier 1 Law Firm.

There is no such rule that you have to do a specific internship to get a specific opportunity.

Focus on the quality of internships.

Even if you crack an internship at a legal startup, help them with everything, show your skills, learn things every day, and take responsibility, you will get a great headstart.

It’s not that learning happens only in Tier 1 Firms.
Sometimes, you do diverse things at small or boutique firms.

Everything boils down to how you present it in your CV and interview.

It’s better to have knowledge than just have a big name on your CV.


I have literally seen some underrated students grab massive opportunities while still being in college and then leverage it once they graduate.

They are way ahead of most people because they didn’t run after names, they ran after skills.

Be the one who runs for skills and knowledge.

I was working with a startup in my 2nd year of law college.

But as I was getting closer to my graduation year, I started doubting my decisions:

- Is this something that I want to do for my entire life?
- Is leaving the core practice of law a wise decision?
- Should I practice for a few years and then leave?

I had all kinds of doubts an average law student has just after graduation.

Since graduating in 2023, I literally tried everything:

Attempted various government exams
Applied to 100 corporate jobs
Considered pursuing an LLM
Thought about an MBA as well

Although I knew I wanted to build something, I kept delaying the process.

I talked to a lot of people, but nobody stopped me and told me, “Shruti, you should do what you are supposed to do. Just get started, don’t overthink.”

I would have found so much peace in between all the chaos.

But I figured out things along the way.

That’s when I decided that I will do something for the students and lawyers who are stuck. That’s the reason I started the 45 Days Program.

45 Days Program

I struggled to get a loan for my car since I didn’t have a CIBIL Score. I never felt the need to use a credit card since I thought having one would make me addicted to buying things with money I might not have at the moment.

Here’s the 1st problem of “The Credit Gap Series for Gig Workers”

📍 Get a credit card as soon as possible

Banks and lenders use credit history to assess creditworthiness. Having a credit card and using it responsibly helps build your credit history (CIBIL score), which strengthens future loan applications. Issuers typically ask for identity, PAN, bank statements, and some proof of income for self-employed applicants.

💡 Solution:
If you don’t have income documents or you’re getting rejected, it’s easier to get a secured credit card against a Fixed Deposit. Once you use it for 6–12 months and build a CIBIL score, it becomes significantly easier to get access to loans in the future (car loans, personal loans, or business credit).

This credit card history + CIBIL score acts as a track record, which banks rely on when deciding if they should trust you with credit, especially if you don’t have salary slips or Form 16.

PS: Please don’t make the mistakes I made. Different banks and NBFCs follow different internal credit policies, so your experience may vary. Please don’t rely on this post blindly and don’t treat it as financial advice. Act responsibly.

I wish I were in Jan 2022 today.

I would have 1 full year left before I graduate in 2023.

This is how the entire year would have looked (with all the knowledge I have today)

1. Invest time in content (Since I love consuming content)
↳ Identify well-articulated content and spend hours on it.
↳ Shift focus from random reels to quality content.

2. Study a lot (Since I love to learn about successful people)
↳ Study top-performing individuals and their schedules.
↳ Read about their business models & branding strategies.

3. Start writing (Since I struggle to express myself while speaking)
↳ Like a particular subject? → Simplify it for others.
↳ Don’t have a niche? → Share your everyday life with people.

4. Analyse your content (You need to do it every single day)
↳ Experiment with different structures until you find yours.
↳ Identify what’s working for you → Stick to that style.

5. Optimise your profile (Position yourself as an expert)
↳ Once you find your USP → Brand it strategically.
↳ Optimize your profile so people know what you do.

6. Learn consistency (You don’t need to have all the talents)
↳ By now, you would have established yourself as someone.
↳ Show up every day as a reminder to people that you exist.

Feel free to tweak it here and there.
Pick a specific slot and stick to it!
Focus on one thing.
