I’m Prem, an AI automation expert consultant working with startups, DTC brands, agencies and SaaS teams across India, US, Canada, UK, Europe, Middle East and SE Asia. Over the past 5+ years I’ve built 1100+ automations for 205+ clients and turned scattered tools into reliable, self running, error free workflows. I work across Make.com, Zapier, n8n, Airtable, Notion, Google Sheets, ClickUp, Monday, WhatsApp Interakt and Twilio, Slack, HubSpot, Shopify, WooCommerce, Telegram, BigQuery, APIs and more.

Most of my work involves designing event driven automation and ETL style data pipelines using webhooks, APIs and workflows, ensuring data stays consistent, traceable and usable across systems.

Clients usually bring me problems like

• Orders, inventory, refunds and COD checks are chaotic

My approach is simple, map reality, design clarity and build workflows that stay stable at scale. Clean logic, strong documentation, predictable behavior and backups are part of every system.

Automation builders on Make will appreciate this update.
One of the most requested features is finally here.

🟣 If-else + Merge modules
At first it may look like a small release, but if you build real scenarios in Make, you know this fixes a long standing workflow design problem.

The problem we had before
When building logic in Make, the usual way was:
➡️ Split the flow using a Router
But once you split the scenario, you could not bring those routes back together like you can in n8n workflows.

So builders had to rely on workarounds like:
⚙️ duplicating modules across routes
🧩 storing results in variables (set and get variables)
🧱 creating complex scenario layouts just to continue the flow
It worked… but it made scenarios harder to maintain or complex to build.

What Make introduced
Two new modules under Flow Control → Conditionals
🔀 If-else
🔗 Merge
Together they enable clean conditional logic inside scenarios.
🔀 If-else
Use this when you want to make one decision.

Example:
If order value > ₹10,000
→ notify manager
Else
→ auto approve

The important part:
👉 Only ONE branch runs.
This guarantees predictable execution.
🔗 Merge
After the chosen branch finishes, the Merge module joins the flow back together.
Your scenario continues with a single execution path. This makes automation design much cleaner.

⚠️Important clarification
A lot of builders may assume this works with Router.
But according to the documentation and community explanation:

⚠️ Router routes cannot be merged.
Why?
Router is designed for parallel actions where multiple paths run at the same time.

Example:
Router does many things with filters or without filters
→ send Slack message
→ update Airtable
→ create Notion task
Since multiple routes run simultaneously, merging them would create timing and data conflicts.

That’s why Make designed If-else + Merge specifically for conditional decisions.

Example workflow

Expense submitted
➡️ If amount > ₹10,000 → notify manager on Slack
➡️ Else → auto approve
🔗 Merge
➡️ Log result in Google Sheets
Previously this required extra modules or duplicated steps.
Now it becomes a clean and readable automation flow.

A few things I like about this release
✔ predictable execution
✔ cleaner scenarios
✔ fewer duplicate modules
✔ easier maintenance

And best of all:
🚀 Available to all Make users (Open Beta)
Small feature, but a very practical improvement for anyone building serious automations.
