Responsible for a solution strategy for the obsolescence notification of the Train Brake Control System. This type of Brake Control System -electronic design originating from the 80's- is implemented in the majority of the trains of the Dutch Railways.
 Modernization (removal and introduction of a new brake control system) would incur over 100 million euro of costs, and very precious operation time of the fleet. Solution is found in continuation of maintenance and repair activities at Nedtrain, in combination with a Last Time Buy for OEM spare parts, and introducing a pro-active obsolescence management process for the electronic components of the Brake Control System. As such, the majority of the train fleet will be able to continue operation with the Brake Control System until End-of-Life.
