Until a brain tumor shook my life in 2013 and compelled me to take my health seriously. My daily fitness routine and lifestyle helped me to recover from the surgery and move on with my life.

At that point, I decided to quit my cash cow job and help fellow professionals live a more meaningful life outside their office chairs. In the last two years since founding QubitFit, we have helped more than 400 professionals transform their health.

My vision is to coach 10,000 people in the next 10 years to help them to lose weight and stay out of obesity.

When people say, “Everything happens for a reason”, it’s absolutely true. The tumor helped me find my purpose in life - to coach people and help them to stay fit, and healthy and lead a happy life with their loved ones.

If carbs made people fat, Japan would be the most overweight nation in the world.

Japanese people eat 3 servings of white rice daily. That is, 55-60% of calories from carbs. And still they are standing tall at 4% obesity rate and boast very high life expectancy.

On the other end, America screams "CARBS ARE EVIL!" while sitting at 42% obesity.
India is at 23-25%. Blaming rice, chapati and idli for weight gain.

Same carbs. Different outcomes. 
Because it was never about the rice. It was never about insulin spikes or carb timing or glycemic index.

Basically, eating too much while moving too little makes you fat.

But that's not an attractive reason. That doesn't sell diet books or supplements or 12-week transformation programs.

So people invented enemies: carbs, gluten, insulin. Japan ignored it all. Kept eating rice. Stayed lean. Lived long.

The answer was never in macronutrient wars.
It is in fundamentals: sleep 7-8 hours, walk 8,000 steps, lift heavy things twice weekly, manage stress, eat appropriate portions and be consistent for years.

Boring? Yes.
Effective? Ask Japan.

Your chapati or rice isn't the villain.
Your unwillingness to address the real issues is.

I forgive you if you are lactose-intolerant. But not if you are logic-intolerant.

I spent years making others proud, and lost myself in the process.

What do you choose when your heart wants one thing, but the world expects something else from you?

Most of us choose the world.

- Not because we are weak.
- But because we don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.
- Because we were raised to be obedient.
- Because we were taught to put others first.

And then years pass, and the regret hits quietly.

You realise you’re stuck, like standing in thick mud.

You look for someone to pull you out.

But instead, people say: “You will bloom like a lotus 🪷 even in this mud.”

And yes, eventually you do bloom. But you’re not happy.

You’re just relieved that you made others happy.

Inside, there are silent days, silent tears, and a void.

Because this isn’t the life you wanted.

You always knew, you were a wildflower.

So with no one coming to save you, you choose the only person left, yourself.

You invest in yourself.

You learn. Upskill. Experiment. Fall. Get up again.

And slowly, things change.

From getting your first chance as a writer,
to storyteller, anthology contributor, blogger, editor, freelance website copywriter, LinkedIn strategist, ghostwriter, full-time content writer, to becoming a startup founder.

Four years of effort. Four years of growth. 🥹

And it was absolutely worth it.

Probably not.

Because numbers don’t build trust, stories do.

I’ve noticed this every time I post on LinkedIn.

When I share a real struggle with a client, people stop and engage.

When I post a clean case study filled with percentages? Silence.

Storytelling works because:

• People see themselves in your experience
• They remember you, not just the metrics
• Emotion creates comments, saves, and shares

Stats explain what happened.

Stories explain why it mattered.

And that “messy middle” the mistakes, doubts, lessons, is what actually connects.

Share the story first.

Let the numbers support it, never replace it.

I experienced it today. That rare feeling when everything just flows.

No drama, no unexpected problems, just smooth sailing!

It's such a rare occurrence that we almost forget it's possible.

Yet, when it happens, it feels magical.

Because:

✅ You can actually breathe and enjoy the moment.
✅ There's no stress weighing you down.
✅ You're not firefighting every hour.

When things align like this:

- You appreciate the simplicity
- You feel grateful for the peace

And honestly, it reminded me of those Illaiyaraja sir songs, where everything just feels right.

The melody, the rhythm, the emotions - all perfectly in sync.

That's exactly how today felt.

- Days like these don't happen by accident.
- They're often the result of prayers, patience, and persistence paying off.
- Chaos will return tomorrow, maybe.
- But today, I'm soaking in this contentment.

My daughter told me yesterday, "Amma, you're always on your laptop." And honestly? She's right.

I wanted to be the perfect mother. The one who's always present, always available, always engaged.

But somewhere between building my career, finding meaning in my work, and trying to maintain relationships, I felt like I was failing at the one thing that mattered most.

The guilt was eating me alive.

Until I realized something important.

There is no checklist that makes you a "good mother."

No perfect formula. No set of rules that guarantee you're doing it right.

I've made peace with the fact that I'm on my laptop a lot. 

Because I'm also showing my daughter what it means to:
• work for what you want
• build something meaningful
• pursue your dreams
• be independent

Yes, I'm on my laptop. But I'm also teaching her that women can have ambitions beyond the home.

That mothers are whole human beings with careers, passions, and identities.

That you don't have to choose between being a mother and being yourself.

A mother, irrespective of the role she plays in the world, is a good mother.

Not because she's perfect.

But because she's trying. She's present in her own way. She's doing her best with what she has.

So if you're feeling guilty today about not being "enough" as a parent while chasing your dreams, remember that you already are enough.

The glow comes when you finally start growing in the right direction.

After countless setbacks, you’ll eventually hit a phase where everything feels smoother, almost effortless.

It might feel like the end of a long chapter,
but it’s actually the beginning of the one that matters.

Lead it with clarity. 
Lead it with content.

And remember: every storm passes.

Your only job is to find your anchor, hold your ground, and grow without losing yourself.

How do you build a personal brand without sounding like you're bragging?

"I don't want to post about my wins. People will think I'm showing off."

That's what I used to think.

But here's the thing.

While you're worried about appearing boastful

- your competitors are sharing their journey
- your potential clients are finding them

I used to think the same way.

I stayed quiet about: 

- the brands I worked with
- the strategies that worked
- the results I delivered

Then I realised something.

Silence doesn't make you humble. It makes you invisible.

Your story has value.
Your wins have lessons.

And if you don't share them, someone with less experience and more confidence will fill that space.

The difference between boasting and building authority?

Boasting is about you.

Building authority is about what others can learn from you.

I tried 2 - 3 days!

My little one was running a fever, clinging to me every five minutes.

Meanwhile, my laptop sat there with client deadlines staring at me.

And then it started raining.

Which meant the laundry I desperately needed to finish was stuck indoors, creating chaos in every corner of my house.

I felt like I was failing at everything.

But here's what I realized while bouncing between never ending tasks. 

This is real life.

Not the polished version we see on social media.

Not the "I have it all figured out" posts.

This is the messy, overwhelming, beautiful reality of being human.

Your clients will understand when you communicate honestly.

Your work will get done, maybe just not on your original timeline.

Your laundry will eventually dry.

So if you're struggling to balance it all today, you're not alone.

We're all just figuring it out as we go.

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s this: I’m obsessed with turning confusion into clarity. Especially when it comes to branding.

I didn’t get into this because it was “trending.”

I got into it because I kept meeting founders with brilliant ideas, whose brands didn’t reflect even 10% of their potential.

And something about that bothered me.

I’ve always been the person who notices the small things: the tone, the feeling, the message, the gaps, the missed opportunities.

Let's be honest about this.

We spend all day making sure our kids eat well, sleep enough, and stay healthy.

But when was the last time you checked in on yourself?

I've been there too.

Running on coffee and determination, thinking that's just what parenting looks like.

But here's what I've learned: You can't pour from an empty cup.

Taking care of yourself isn't selfish.

It's necessary.

Your kids need you at your best, not your most exhausted.

So what does self-care look like as a parent?
- Taking that 10-minute shower without rushing
- Asking for help when you need it
- Eating a meal while it's still warm
- Going to bed at a decent hour

I know it feels impossible some days.

Between school runs, work calls, and bedtime routines, where's the time for you?

But you have to make it.

Even if it's just 15 minutes of quiet with your morning coffee.

Your well-being matters just as much as theirs.

What's one small thing you can do for yourself today?

Personal branding isn't only for the top, they say. In reality, everyone needs it.

I've seen professionals ignore it:

"I'm not a CEO."
"I'm not selling anything."
"I'm just doing my job."
"Nobody cares about me."

But here's what actually happens:

Your clients Google you before the first call.
Your boss checks your profile before promotions.
Your next opportunity finds you online.
Your reputation exists whether you build it or not.

I started building mine when I realized something simple.

People weren't just hiring skills.
They were hiring trust.
And trust comes from visibility.

So I showed up.
Shared my knowledge.
Connected with intention.

That's when things changed.

Because personal branding isn't about being famous.

It's about being findable, credible, and memorable.

Stop thinking it's only for leaders.

Start owning your story.

Build your presence.

Control your narrative.

Because when someone Googles you, you want them to find the real you, not silence.

And that's something every professional deserves.

As an entrepreneur you invest a lot in upskilling your business.

But what you do for your personal health? Mental health to be precise!

Nothing.

You are trapped in between deadlines and meetings.

And somewhere along the way, your soul is always tired.

You lack the energy. 

And it can be healed when you hear what's going on your mind.

If your inside is well and good, you will perform well outwards as well.

It's been years and thankfully I have taken a right path to heal.

And that's the beautiful line from the session!

Healing is a long-term Journey! 

Though it may be long or short kindly take the step!

People ask me what motivates my consistency.

It’s simple: purpose > motivation.

If you don’t show up for your dream, nobody else will.

When life feels stuck and you know you need to grow, sometimes the answer is simple:

Move.

A new place, a different home, city, or even country, can change you in ways you can’t imagine.

Of course, not everyone has the freedom or courage to make that shift.

But remember: nothing is more important than you.

It might sound selfish, but valkai mukkiyam amaichare!

Life matters first.

Don’t let it sit idle just because it’s comfortable.

Change your course if you must, but never your purpose.

The lessons you learned the hard way.

The mistakes that taught you something valuable.

That's what people want to hear.

Not another generic post about "hustle culture" or "mindset shifts."

Your job is simple:

✅ Talk about your unique challenges
✅ Give insights only you can give
✅ Share your real experiences

The audience will connect.

Maybe not with everyone, but with the right people.

So, stop looking outward for content ideas and start looking inward.

I've been there too many times.

Life piles on responsibilities like there's no tomorrow.

Work deadlines, family expectations, personal goals - everything demanding attention at once.

And when it gets overwhelming?

The people closest to us become our emotional punching bags.

👉 Have you ever snapped over something trivial?
👉 Have you taken out work stress on your family?

I'm guilty of this.

When I'm drowning in client work, and my patience runs thin, my family gets the worst version of me.

But here's what I've learned:

They don't deserve our overflow of frustration.

Because:

✅ Hurting them only adds guilt to our burden.
✅ They're not the source of our stress.
✅ They're actually our support system.

What helps (I'm also learning to adapt)

- Pause before reacting
- Acknowledge you are overwhelmed
- Communicate instead of exploding

When you feel that anger rising:

Step away for five minutes. 
Breathe. 
Remind yourself that your loved ones aren't your enemies.

The responsibilities will always be there.

But the damage you cause in frustration? 

Those take much longer to repair.
