Took a few hours to put the onboarding flows on a Figma board, with some notes covering exactly how these companies use AI to get users to value faster.

Here’s how they are using AI to cut time-to-value down to seconds 👇

1. Relay.app (Context > Content) 
Instead of asking 20 questions, Relay asks for your LinkedIn URL. The AI scans your profile and auto-configures your agents and workspace instantly.

2. Gamma (Execution > Guidance) 
Gamma doesn't teach you how to use the editor. It asks for a topic and generates a full slide deck for you in seconds. No more relying on "empty states."

3. Figma (Just-in-Time Education) 
Figma analyzes your behavior in the canvas. If you get stuck or pause too long, the AI suggests the specific plugin or feature you need right in that moment.

4. Zapier (Outcome > Templates) 
Templates have taken a back seat. Now, a Copilot ingests your desired outcome and builds the workflow for you. It uses your initial app selections to predict exactly which prompts you need first.

5. Notion (Conversational Setup) 
They replaced the static "welcome wizard" with an active AI chat. It uses natural language to configure your workspace behind the scenes.

The first screen is a chatbot asking, "What are we working on?". It builds the board structure for you before you even learn the UI.

7. n8n (Teaching by Showing) 
The "Try an AI Workflow" option demonstrates a working example first, teaching you how to interact with the agent while giving you a feeling of immediate progress.

8. Instantly.ai (Embedded Support) 
While the main tour is traditional (tooltips), the real power is hidden inside. As you navigate, AI agents surface to handle complex setup tasks, proving you don't need to be "AI-Native" to be effective.

Onboarding is evolving.

→ From: Teaching users how to use your interface.
→ To: Teaching AI what the user wants to do.

In 2023 I started as a freelance UX designer for B2B SaaS companies

As with many freelancers, that looked like this:

1. Chasing new clients for 2 months

3 days later, I got this DM from him:

1 week later

"Another lead came in. Huge SaaS company from Dubai"

This morning, I got a DM from him that he got 2 more leads during my holiday. 

Boooom! 

Here's how we did that in less than 3 weeks:

1. Define his ICP.
In week one, we answered 20 simple questions to define his ICP. Was it perfect? F*ck no. That's not the point. We wanted to start testing. Fast.

2. Defined his positioning
We picked the biggest problem his ICP has, and the thing that he does best, fixing it. Then build his positioning around that.
 
3. Build his profile
We rebuild his profile. Clear tagline, vibrant banner, and an info section that's not about him, but is about his ICP's biggest problem, and how he helps them.

4. Created his content strategy
There was no strategy yet. So we made one. 3 main topics followed by 10+ subtopics. All of them are connected to what he thinks, knows, and does.

5. Reviewed his copy and visuals.
Everyone can write.  My job is just to make it better suited for LinkedIn. We improved every post in Notion.  Each post now tells the right story.  Each post attracts the right ICP.

6. Started conversations
We left meaningful comments and reached out to profile visitors, making him visible everywhere. 

So many people keep posting without ever really landing a single client.   

But it’s much more tactical than just posting.

This week, I had a call with a GTM consultant.

He was struggling with the 3 usual suspects:

Ideation
Creation
Making time

My clients don't want to become content creators.

They want a system they can follow, and that doesn't take up half a workday.

Here's the routine I share with them:

20 minutes → Comment
Start by leaving thoughtful comments on peers, and your ICP. This warms up your the algo.

10 minutes → Connect
Go through the comments of peers and your ICP, and find similar people to connect with. 

10 minutes → Post
Share your post, and make sure you stay online to respond to the comments. Posting and ghosting is a no-go.

20 minutes → DMs
Start at least 5 conversations through the DM. Reach out to people who have visited your profile or commented on your post.

That's it.

Do this consistently for at least a month, and I will guarantee:

- More followers
- More engagement
- More conversations 

Being visible on LinkedIn isn’t magic. 

It’s mechanics. 

You don’t need 10 hours a week. 

You need one routine worth repeating.

1. Made the switch to SaaS in February 2024
2. Helped 10+ SaaS clients with their UX
3. Transitioned into onboarding
4. Niched even further to PLG

In 2 years, I've pivoted 3 times.

UX → Onboarding

Still, my niche stayed the same:

B2B SaaS. 

In those 2 years, LinkedIn was always my main source of leads.

Was it always consistent? 

Hell no. 

The first year sucked. 

Writing just 1 post took me around 2 hours, and after posting, I usually got 20 likes and 3 comments (that was on a good day)

LinkedIn needed to work for me without getting burned out

I worked my ass off. 

Made 100s of mistakes, learned from every single one of them.

LinkedIn ≠ 'just posting'

It's this ↓

Many clients tell me this:
 
“I posted for a few weeks. I stopped because I got no leads.”
 
They think posting is the whole thing.
 
But here's the truth:
 
LinkedIn isn't just about posting.
 
It's...

- Interacting with your audience
- Analyzing your content
- Replying to comments
- Replying to DMs
- Telling stories.

And so much more.
 
In my 1:1 coaching, I tell clients this:
 
If you only post...
You're not building a lead system.
You're just keeping yourself busy.
 
Posting is just one part of the flywheel.
 
It's a system.

Great systems don't just keep you busy.

They generate leads.

That's when things start to grow.

I've roasted 10s of posts this week

I keep seeing this 1 mistake ↓

Unformatted post.

One wall of text your audience has to go through, hoping to find the golden nuggets.

And because of that, I usually see this:

30+ likes
2 comments

Within seconds, it's clear to me:

People don't read your post.
They only support you.

They don't actually read what you have to say.

Sure, it could have multiple reasons like:

- Boring
- Bad hook / rehook
- Not speaking to your ICP

But even if you fix those problems. 
If your content isn't optimized for scanning. 

No one will actually read it. 

(Unless you're like Justin Welsh or Lara Acosta. They can do whatever F they want)

So my advice? 
Start formatting.

Example:

[hook]

[rehook]

[1 or 2 lines]

[1 word - (it's called the break)]

[1 or 2 lines]

[bullet points]

[1 line]

[3 lines]

Think you see the picture now. 

The goal is to guide your audience through your posts, and you do that by using whitespace.

It lets your post breathe

Without that, it's just one blob, which no one will ever read.

Including your ICP.

People started focusing on the holidays, and tbh I was ready to take a break from work.
 
I shared a last kind of OOO post in LI, closed my MacBook and...
 
Spent a lot of time with my girls. 
→ Love this
 
Bought and drank lots of craft beer 
→ I mean a lot.
 
Competed in a jeu de boules competition 
→ 1 win / 4 losses
 
During that jeu de boules competition, someone asked me...
 
"You probably have all your posts scheduled for the holiday, right?"
 
I laughed and said no.
 
I only post wheen i can reply to comments.
 
Why?
 
Because it's not about posting or making sure people see my tagline every single day.
 
LinkedIn works best if you:
 
- Start conversations in comments and DMs
- Build new relationships
- Help others grow
 
I've done this for the bigger part of 2025.
 
And it's the thing I teach all my clients too.
 
It significantly drives more revenue if done right.
 
LinkedIn isn't posting.
 
It's interacting.

"My ICP isn't seeing my content anymore"

Here's a quick fix for that ↓

Last year, I was still fully focused on PLG

My feed reflected that.

I mainly saw posts from:

SaaS founder
PLG peers.

But LinkedIn has introduced its own LLM called 360Brew.

With that, it makes the feed behave more like a “For You” page.

Quite similar to TikTok/Instagram/etc.

So, because I've made the switch to helping B2B SaaS founders and consultants with LI. 

LI has placed me in a different bucket.

The coaching bucket. 

And because of that, I don't see posts anymore from leading SaaS, and PLG creators.

Instead, it shows me posts from:

- Jasmin Alic
- Lara Acosta
- Nick Broekma
- Daniel Korenblum

Super valuable, but I still like to catch up on SaaS and PLG.

Not only that. 

Many SaaS consultants (my ICP) are in that bucket, so I still want to interact with them.

Here's how I fixed that:

1. Go to the person's profile
2. Click on the 2 bells in the top right corner
3. You see a pop-up: Manage notifications about [name]
4. Select 'Everything'
5. Save

You can do this with your ICP and peers from people who aren't in your 'bucket'

Interact with that post, and leave a valuable comment.

The algorithm may not show your post to the right people.
 
But your comments still can.
 
When you comment, you can share value directly with your ICP.

Try it out, and see your feed adapt.

You can post 7x a week and leave 100s of comments, but without these 3 foundations, none of it will work.

Storytime:

When I started as a UX freelancer, I made a mistake I now see everywhere.
 
I worked with everyone.

No Niche
No ICP.
No urgent problem

Just “UX help” for any company that needed it.

My LinkedIn reflected that.
 
It spoke to everyone.  
Which meant it resonated with no one.  
0 leads.

I was spending 2–3 hours a day posting, commenting, staying consistent, without a single meaningful conversation to show for it.
 
Nothing was wrong with LinkedIn.  

My positioning was.
 
I hired a coach who told me something simple:
 
“Don’t touch content until these 3 are clear.”

ICP.  
Outcome.  
Offer.
 
I wasn’t being ignored.  
People simply didn’t understand:
 
- who I was for
- what problem I solved
- or why it mattered now
 
So I rebuilt those 3 first.

Here’s exactly how I fixed it:

1. ICP
I chose a niche (B2B SaaS) and searched for companies that were hiring UX designers. Most of the time, they were interested in freelancers as well to plug-and-play them into their organisation. 

2. Problem
I reached out to a lot of SaaS founders to discover their biggest problem and what their dream outcome would look like. Most of the time, it was the fact that predecessors screwed up, and that they needed an expert to level up their SaaS product.

3. Offer
Based upon those convo's, I created an offer that laddered up. So I had an audit give quick advice, a sprint to work 2 weeks intensively with them, or a full-blown program.

The DMs that followed weren’t the win.  
They were data.

Every DM.
Every call.  
Every objection.

They forced me to sharpen my ICP, go deeper than surface-level outcomes, and design an offer the market actually said yes to.

That’s how this compounds.

Don’t aim for perfection.  
Aim for clear. 
Then iterate.
 
If you’re still posting without a trigger, this is probably why.

Back in college, I failed my graphic design exam.

I wasn't 'creative' enough 

"Your work is technically correct, but it's not creative enough to grab the attention

At least that's what they said on paper.

I knew it was something different.
It was me being a perfectionist.

I had a friend. Super creative. Always one step ahead, and teachers loved his work.

"This is agency-level work."

"And yes, the highest grade goes again to..."

It sucked. 

I wanted that too, so I started pushing myself harder.
 
But the more I tried to be perfect, 
the worse my creativity got.

It's the same thing I see on LI every day. 
 
People compare themselves to big creators. 

Big posts.
Fancy visuals.
Lots of comments.

And their own posts? Crickets.

It's demotivating. I know, I've been there meself as well. 

So they overthink and stop posting.
 
Here’s what I tell clients:
 
1. Pick one small topic 
Not everything. Just one thing.
 
2. Write a simple hook 
1–2 lines. Say what the post is about while making people curious
 
3. Just write 
Don’t think about format, start writing your story first.
 
4. Read it out loud 
If it sounds weird, fix it.
 
5. Add one clear action 
Comment. DM. Sign up. Tell people what to do.
 

Don’t aim for perfection. 
Aim for good enough.
 
Every post is practice, just keep going.

1. Niche
Ask your best 3 clients about their pains, frustrations, and goals. That’s your (lightweight) niche.

2. Problem
Find the main problem. Ask why/how/when?

3. ICP
From the niche and problem, pick who you want to reach by asking: who feels this problem most, who can pay for it, and where you can make the biggest impact.

4. Offer
Use your skills to make a clear fix for the problem. It can be design, strategy, data work, or something else. Make it feel like a product.

5. Message
What do you help people get? More users? Less churn? Use this in every message you write.

6. Profile
Set up your profile for your ICP. It should feel like a landing page, not a resume.

7. Content
Write about your ICP’s problems, frustrations, and goals. Add your own view, wins, or lessons.

8. Comments
Leave smart comments.
Talk with people in your niche. Be active in more than one place.

9. (Warm) DMs
Don’t wait for people to DM you. Look at who follows you, likes your posts, or views your profile. Reach out and start a simple chat.

That’s it.

Go through the complete cycle every 3 months and update your strategy.

Why?

- New insights
- New ideas
- New leads

Only 10 comments per post

Yesterday, I spoke to a GTM consultant. 

We've been following each other for a while, and already shared some insights through the DM.

tbh it looked like he was doing pretty well:

- 20k+ followers
- Amazing visuals
- Posting 4x per week

But when I looked at his content, It didn't make sense:

20k followers, but most of his posts didn't get more than 10 comments.

So I reached out:

"I was looking through your posts and noticed that engagement is surprisingly low. Especially because you have like 20k followers."

Of course, he did notice that, and he was curious about my opinion

So we hopped on a call and went through his content

As always, I saw these 3 usual suspects:

- Weak hook
- No context
- Vague CTA

But the biggest thing his content was missing?

A story.

His content was valuable, but it was soulless. ChatGPT could have easily generated it. 

Tbh. Most of the content I see on LI looks like this.

So I told him to base his content on calls with clients. 

- Explain the challenges
- Why does it frustrate them?
- What have they tried before?
- What did they ask you?
- What advice did you give
- How did you actually help them?

I also recommended adding quotes. 

Why? 

Because it makes the story real. 
It makes it feel like a real conversation.

I teach my clients exactly this during my 3-month, 1:1 Inbound program. 

It helped one client get 4 leads within 30 days.
Another client closed a €15 deal within 1 month
And it helped me 4x my revenue in just 3 months.

So yes, telling a story works.

When prospects reach out for help, they always want one thing:

Consistent Inbound Leads

I get that. 

It's the thing I want as well, but tbh LI has changed.

- The algo has made a shift
- AI slop is everywhere
- People are aware

You have to do more than push out content, comment like crazy, and hope for the best.

That's why I always combine inbound with outreach.

Not by sliding in their DMs and pitch slapping the f*ck out of them. 

That sh*t never works.

Instead, you want to reach out to people who have already shown interest in your product or service.

How? 

By looking at these 3 metrics:

- Profile visits
- Comments
- Likes

These are indicators that people have seen your content, are interested in what you do, but might be hesitating.

That's where you step in using this 6-step framework ↓

The fear isn’t about being seen.  
It’s about being seen...

and ignored.
 
After watching 100s of people post consistently over time, one thing keeps showing up:

Newbies obsess before posting.  

The OG's ignore outcomes after posting.

The difference isn’t confidence. 
It's seeing the bigger picture.
 
They don’t ask:  

“Will this perform now?”
 
They ask:  

“Will this build my brand over time?”

Visibility feels risky.  
Silence feels safe.
 
Only one of those works.

A client went from 0 leads to a €15k deal in 1 month. 

No outreach. No daily posting
 
Last November, we had our first call.

 During that call, he told me:
 
"Over the last year, I got maybe 1 or 2 inbound leads, whom didn’t buy from me. "
 
We looked at his profile, content, and comments.
 
They weren't bad, but they spoke to his peers. 
Not his ICP.
 
I told him that if we worked together, I would guarantee him that he would get the investment back. If not, I would work with him until we did.
 
He smiled. 

He was already convinced, but this guarantee made it a no-brainer.
 
We started in December
 
Pulled in his first lead within 11 days just by:
 
1. Defining his ICP
2. Repositioned him
3. Optimizing his offer
4. Turning his profile into a landing page
5. Posting client-focused content 3x p/w
6. Leaving 10 comments to increase visibility

He didn’t do outreach.

his ideal customers reached out to HIM because his content finally attracted them. 
 
That first lead didn't become a client.
 
"I screwed up the call" he DM'd me
 
I analyzed his call and gave him tactical advice like:

- Tackle objections by counter questions
- Ask why they need to fix their problem now.
- Hind to other clients similar to those you've helped

After that call, new leads came in.

And this time, he nailed the DM and the call.
 
Resulting in a $15k client signed in just 6 weeks.
 
And you know what.
 
We still have 8 weeks to double that.

It happened to my client yesterday.

We've been working together since December.
 
During our first call, he told me:
 
"I've been active on LI for almost 2 years, but got maybe 1 or 2 real inbound leads."
 
He was:
 
• Posting 3x p/w
• Commenting on others
• Connecting with ICPs and Peers.
 
Still 0 leads.
 
"I really don't understand," he told me. 

So we did a full reset. 
Starting from the foundation:
 
 1. We redefined his niche
 2. We made his ICP crystal clear
 3. We learned their goals and problems
 4. We fixed his positioning to attract the right people
 5. We added a low-tier option to his offer
 6. We turned his profile into a landing page
 7. We changed his writing to fit LinkedIn
 8. We made visuals that people wanted to save
 9. We left helpful comments that people noticed
10. We sold in DMs without pushing to sell
 
We went all in.
 
And my client?
 
He worked his ass off, and with just 6 weeks, he already got 6 solid inbounds leads.
 
2 of them came in on the same day with a potential worth $30k+

If he keeps up this pace, he’ll get his investment back 5×.

A 10-minute ICP exercise I use in my 1:1 program.

It's easy, fun, and I'm sharing it for free ;)

When I start working with new clients, the first thing we do is:

1. Choose a niche
2. Define the ICP
3. Understand problems and goals

We chose a niche based upon previous experience, current market, and, of course, their own preference. 

The ICP is defined by:

1. A list of 20 in-depth questions.
2. A 10-minute exercise.

By combining this, we have a great starting point for further iteration.

It's not perfect. 
But it doesn't have to be.

The goal is to test, optimize, and test again.
