Over the last 15 years, I've helped commercial corporations, startups, and non-profits grow, foster new relationships, and crush their overall sales goals. 

From bringing whiteboard ideas to life to building a >$100M of new business, I've taken a very structured business development approach to growth. 

From my hands-on sales experience, working with both small and large companies, I learned a lot about what works and what doesn't. So in 2019, I started my own company. 

I believe building your business relies on a multitude of assets, both internally and externally focused. From your company differentiators to building account management plans, to strategic partnerships, to social selling, building you into a trusted advisor is where you should be. 

I've worked in marketing, business development, corporate strategy, and government affairs for several firms, including Signify (formerly Philips Lighting), Major League Rugby (MLR) franchise Old Glory DC, Royal Philips, Elbit Systems of America, Chenega Corporation and the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs within the United States Senate.

I also sit on the Board of Directors for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) in Washington DC, a non-profit organization that collaborates with both government and private sector on national security infrastructure challenges. 

I'm an active member throughout the local rugby community, recently serving as President of the Washington Irish Rugby Football Clubs, and work with local youth rugby clubs throughout the area. Lastly, I'm also active in various organizations such as Association for United States Army (AUSA), USA Rugby, Smart Cities Group, and others. 

I hold a Bachelor of Arts from Bates College in Maine and certifications from Shipley University in business development and capture management.

It has been a little more than 60 years since the passing of the 1963 Civil Rights Act, which Dr. King was instrumental in helping pass.

Latest newsletter is up! This week, I dive into the crucial aspect of what can affect your opportunity growth and wins. Addressing those individuals who are not a champion of yours, and how to best mitigate it. 

Every lost deal (regardless of size) had one thing in common.
It wasn’t the product.
It wasn’t the price.
It wasn’t the pitch.

It was a person.

Not the champion cheering for us.
The person silently working against us.

The internal blocker.
The quiet “no.”
The one who smiled in meetings, asked polite questions, and then slow‑rolled us behind closed doors.

Most leaders obsess over champions.
Almost none obsess over blockers.

Here’s the reality:
- You are presenting to people who have already chosen your competitor.
- You are investing months into opportunities where you never had a real shot.
- You are calling it “pipeline” when it is actually a very expensive illusion.

If you do not know:
- Everyone involved in the buying decision
- Who is truly championing you
- Who does not want you to win
- Why they are against you
- And whether the runway is long enough to change it

…then you are not selling, you are guessing.

Mr. DeBoer served as the Virginia Director of Operations. He was responsible for archaeological field direction, investigation, interpretation, and evaluation, as well as business development, marketing and new business capture for the company. He has 20 years of professional archaeological experience on small, medium, and large-scale projects in the states of California, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. Mr. DeBoer has extensive experience with projects that comply with Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act, as well as those that comply with various state, county, and/or municipality-specific preservation laws.

Director of Operations - Virginia

Mr. DeBoer served as a Staff Archaeologist and Laboratory Director in the Evansville, Indiana office of Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc.  Responsibilities in the Evansville Office included marketing, conducting pre-field research, directing fieldwork and laboratory analyses, and technical report preparation. Mr. DeBoer also served as the Evansville Office Safety Officer.  Responsibilities included keeping office staff and management informed of safety directives and guidance.

Staff Archaeologist

Mr. DeBoer served as CRM Project Manger and Archaeologist, providing consulting and task management support to numerous federal agencies and private industry. As Project Manager, Mr. DeBoer was responsible for the day-to-day tactical duties for the CRM technical program, inclusive of project management, administrative and operational leadership of a project, and business development. As an Archaeologist, Mr. DeBoer conducted background research and fieldwork, managed fieldwork crews, coordinated with Field Directors, and oversaw results of multi-functional project teams. Additional responsibilities included writing, presenting, and publishing reports that recorded archaeological site history, methodology, and artifact analysis results, along with recommendations for conserving and interpreting findings. 

Mr. DeBoer also served as Lead Safety Representative for the Mission Solutions Group (MSG) and KAB Laboratories (KAB).  Responsibilities included representation of MSG/KAB on Epsilon Systems Safety Council, as well as keeping office representatives and management informed of safety directives and guidance.

Mr. DeBoer designed, implemented, and supervised archaeological and historical surveys and conducted site evaluations, impact mitigations, and other cultural resources projects. He was responsible for a variety of non-routine and increasingly complex cultural resources tasks to assist in solving various resource issues.

Mr. DeBoer was responsible for routine cultural resources tasks and assisting in solving various resource issues. He participated in the implementation of archaeological surveys, site evaluations, and other cultural resources projects while working as a member of numerous Cultural Resources teams.

Project Management leadership of diverse professional teams has resulted in driven, confident, and creative organizational approaches to successful task completion.  Proven technical writing abilities in both academic and consultant settings have demonstrated strengths in reporting findings, proposal preparation, and business development endeavors.  Highlights include:
