The answer is not to minimize wrongness.

It's to minimize the COST of being wrong.

So you can cycle through many, many wrong answers without dying.

That's the highest-odds path to getting to the *right* answer.

The alternative is buying a lottery ticket.

Run faster, Run longer, and/or Run in unique directions...

1/3 gives you a fighting chance.

2/3 gets you above 50% odds of making it.

3/3 creates an inevitability of success.

"Grass roots" growth sounds romantic.

It isn't.

Most of us are playing an old-school, economies-of-scale game.

Which means we start in a painful (i.e., un-romantic) unit economics hole.

The best (and, arguably, only) path out?

Volume.

And then a careful *leveraging* of that volume.

The best way to achieve volume?

Taking big swings early.

To me, that's romance.

The path to The Goal is the inverse of The Goal.

Reduce optionality so you can later maximize it.

Concentrate bets so you can later diversify them.

Channel negative emotions (jealousy, comparison, anger) so you can later jettison them.

Etc.

Of course this only works if you...

1. know *when* to flip the switch (timing is everything)
2. are able to *actually* flip that switch (many refuse to)
3. *avoid psychological disaster* along the way (which is mostly a function of how you execute on 1 and 2)

As the Senior Director of Solution Consulting, I was appointed to provide technical oversight, management, and work in the deployment of new originations systems written in OutSystems for T-Mobile and Desjardins Bank, among others.

This included participating in the pre-sales process and presenting at conferences to co-promote both FICO and OutSystems—I established a reputation as “go-to” for technical situations and challenges.

• Relied on by leadership and executed seamlessly throughout high-profile, critical product implementations to ensure smooth go-live.

• Recognized as top 7% performer by FICO CEO after resurrecting $35M project in dire straits; within 12 hours of investigating issue, identified the problem and proposed a solution. 

• Provided SME to implement Originations Manager—which is a top 3 software product for FICO—providing leadership and direction to accelerate frequency of deals, from only a few prior to joining the company, to enabling 70 throughout tenure.

I joined sister companies Conigent and Wodify at the same time.

As the CTO and Lead Architect for projects in the OutSystems Agile Platform, I worked with a range of enterprise clients as well as for Wodify, the leading SaaS application for functional fitness athletes and gyms.

(During my time with Wodify, the company grew from 10 gyms and 1K users to 2.5K gyms and 300K users, logging 2M performance results per month.)

• Built a world-class OutSystems development practice from the ground up by recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring other developers. Conducted employee reviews, terminations, and other leadership responsibilities.

• Designed and implemented integration with Lawson M3, Infor ION, and many others.

• Recognized as a thought leader within the OutSystems community, used as a subject matter expert (SME) by OutSystems internally (beta programs, “voice of the customer”) and externally.
