2016 vs 2026: you had to be there

Ten years ago, I was a young adult living in Berlin, fresh out of school, working in Finance and already certain it wasn’t for me.

After a trip to Indonesia, I became curious about tech. While living in Italy, I started learning to code: 2 to 4 hours every day, teaching myself HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

That led me to design, and eventually to Webflow, where I finally felt the freedom to build and create.

I started freelancing on Upwork. It was barely making money, but I kept going.

One small project after another, until one day, I met Sina Sadegh, a client who would later become the co-founder of magier.

Looking back now, everything changed because I followed my curiosity and stayed committed to learning.

I replaced all forms on my website with Tally forms.

Why? 

Well... where do I even begin?!

Most native website forms:

- don't let you add conditional logic.
- don't integrate easily with Notion or your Newsletter tools.
- don't let you add multi-step forms, conditional logic, etc.

To all the women on here...

If I could give you ONE productivity tip to end the week, it would be this:

📣 start every day with checking in on the stage the cycle you're in

I know some people would say topics like these should stay off LinkedIn. 

But we all have a body and we need to be aware of how we feel, when to push through and when to cut ourselves some slack.

I have this daily tracker that I fill out in Notion (see below). It helps me stick to my goals and become more aware of how I feel each day and why.

I track how much protein I eat, how much sleep I got, if I followed my morning routine (aka not opening up my laptop right after waking up), what workout I did, my stress levels, my cycle stage AND at the end of the day I write a daily note (can be one sentence, can be more, depending on the day).

Because it's the foundation.

So if a day feels particularly tough, I can look back at this simple tracker and note "ok I only slept 5 hours and I'm in my luteal phase". I need to take it easy and that's ok!

As someone who's tested and tried every productivity hack under the sun, this daily routine of checking in has been THE most impactful and THE most motivating by far. 

And it only takes 1 minute.

"well... it's a course for employed marketers and I'm questioning my life decisions right now because while I got a few people really interested already, I'm noticing that marketers who have a job don't feel an "urgency" to build a personal brand. 

They feel safe in their job. So they don't want to invest or find the time right now to invest into their future. They don't want to think about the fact that if they get laid off they'll be competing with thousands of CV's and may really struggle to find their next role. And that it could happen anytime. Butt I don't wanna lead in my posts with this because I don't wanna be too negative.

I grew my personal brand to 18k followers while working full time, which led to so so many opportunities, job offers, brand collabs, so I'm very passionate about teaching other marketers how to do that while they have a safety net of a job. 

But I just feel like this sense of urgency is just not there for many of them... 

Maybe I should have focused on entrepreneurs only because they really need to generate leads now to survive?! That's why I'm also setting up a LinkedIn Growth Community in parallel, but I really want to make it clear to more marketers that personal branding can't wait until you're looking for a job..."
