I’m Wendy, but most people call me wo0 (my clients started calling me the Queen of Angles, so I rolled with it).

I’ve been photographing humans for over twenty years. 

Not just pointing a camera at them, but understanding them...how they move, how they think, what makes them tick and what brings them to life.

That’s why my work isn’t JUST photos (even though they're epic) - It’s confidence building, brand positioning, psychology and strategy all wrapped up in ADHD chaos.

Today after many long years of waiting I start my ADHD medication. 

I’m not gonna lie, I’m betting everything on these working. 

If they don’t I’ve built out up so much I’m going to be pretty gutted. 

I’ve been struggling with it recently.

Whenever I speak at an event, I always warn the room that I might say some naughty words…like quim and chode and such like. 

And Friday was no different. 

The legend that is Katy L. asked me to be do a keynote at her masquerade ball that was put on to raise money for Oasis Domestic Abuse Service. 

Of course I obliged…having been in two (I’m greedy) DA relationships and worked on Female Five Million, it’s a subject close to my heart. 

I did what I always do and showed up as myself…chaotic, sweary and making jokes (trauma made me hilarious)

And I’ll be doing the same next Monday for Sophie Jane Lee’s Unapologetic Voice Marathon. 

It’s just one of the billion things she’s doing to celebrate her book, Beyond Palatable, coming out.

Now I say this in the nicest way possible, and I really don't mean to be a bitch, but...

Recently I got back some photos of me while I was speaking on stage and I nearly cried at how awful they were.

I looked like I’d been on the pingers for 3 days straight…a photo at a bad angle when you’re mid word is not pretty. 

Unfortunately this is so common in the speaker world. 

You work for years to become the master of your craft, learn how to speak about it, work hard on your talk, overcome those nerves and perform like an utter badass.

You. Feel. Incredible!

Then when you get your photos back...that feeling disappears.

All you can think is 'Did I really look like that up there?'

No. No you absolutely did not.

It’s not you. It’s the way the photo was taken (and I actually think some photographers are really mean with some of the photos they share with the world). 

There are 4 types of photographer taking photos like this at events

- Event photographers that are paid to take photos of the entire event and don't necessarily have time to focus on you, and need to get the (excuse the pun) bigger picture.

- ATGNI (All The Gear No Idea) photographers that turn up and look like they're doing the job, but oh my sticky gusset, do NOT deliver good photos.

- Photographers that understand the assignment and deliver great photos.

- Me. Someone who has designed Personal Paparazzi for exactly this reason.

For years now I've been taking photos of speakers getting ready for their talk, all possible angles of them while they're speaking, and of them talking to people after their talk...WITHOUT making them look like their chin is on their shoulder.

I don't really talk about it much on here because it's more of a word of mouth thing to be honest, but after getting my pics, I just needed to share.

“100k+ followers looks impressive, until you scratch the surface...”

I used to think that follower count and engagement on here meant expertise, credibility, and quality of work.

But at the end of the day LinkedIn is still just a another social media platform. 
And some people just play the game better than others.

A lot of what you see is:
➡️ Smoke and mirrors,
➡️ engagement pods,
➡️ bought followers,
➡️ paid Forbes "Look at me I finally made it" type of features,
➡️ and success stories stretched thinner than a Monday morning coffee.

That doesn’t mean everyone with a big following is faking it.
Plenty of people have earned their audience and business success the right way.

But remember, not everything you see here is as shiny as it looks.

So take it all with a pinch of salt,
and be careful who you listen to (or give your money to). 😉

I’m most likely not the right designer for you. 
And our working relationship will sink faster than the Titanic.

But if you’re after someone who...

✅ Gets things done.
✅ Doesn’t do sugarcoating it.
✅ Takes ownership, not orders. 
✅ Keeps things clear, honest, and efficient. 
✅ Solves problems instead of creating new ones. 
✅ Brings clarity when everyone else brings chaos.
✅ Delivers designs that actually make a difference.

Then we will get along just fine.

I'm not here to do busywork.

I am a proud dog mum.

Yes, I said it.

And I am going to go one step further...
I think my dog is cuter than any baby I have ever seen.

Every. Single. One.

Does that make me biased? Absolutely.
Does it make me wrong? Also no. (In my humble opinion)

She listens (sometimes). 
She shows up with good energy every time.
She has better and shinier hair than most adults.

She doesn’t cry on planes. 
She doesn’t ask for a college fund. 
All she wants is snacks and emotional support. (Same, love, same.)

Respectfully, your baby is great.
But have you seen my dog? 🐾

P.S. Where are my proud dog parents at?

I am not a business owner. 
And I don't want to be one...

At least not in the traditional sense. 

I have no interest in;
❌ scaling to 7 figures,
❌ having a team,
❌ or an office.

Call me an independent, freelancer or self-employed graphic designer, but I don't see myself as a 'business owner.'

Because for me, that means:
• I choose my clients.
• I choose my projects.
• I choose when and where I work.
• I choose how much is “enough.”

No office politics. 
No team meetings. 
No salaries to worry about.
No pressure to endlessly scale.

So if you are a freelancer who doesn’t dream of building an “agency” or “empire”, you are not thinking small.

You are just here designing a business that fits you.

And there is nothing wrong with that. 😉

Guess what?

And this might shock you...

You are not the main character of anyone’s LinkedIn feed.

✅ So just say the thing you have been watering down for LinkedIn. 
✅ Share the opinion that might lose you a few lukewarm followers. 
✅ Post the selfie that screams “yes, I do touch grass sometimes.”

Just embrace your inner chaos gremlin…

And stop worrying about what some keyboard warrior might have to say. 😉

Being an introvert isn’t what you think it is…

I had a conversation with a close friend the other day.

She’s nearly 30. 
And only just realised she’s an introvert.

“I always thought I was an extrovert…” she said.

Why? Because:
- She isn’t awkward or shy around people.
- She can be the loudest person in the room.
- She doesn’t always want to be alone.
- She definitely doesn’t lack ambition.

And I’m not either. Even though I’d happily label myself a full‑blown introvert.

That chat made me realise most people still don’t really get what “introvert” & “extrovert” actually mean.

The real difference isn’t:
“Likes people” vs “hates people”
“Confident” vs “socially anxious”

It’s how we recharge our batteries.

As introverts, we reset by: 
✅ Being alone, going for a quiet walk 
✅ Hanging out in low‑stimulation environments. 
(Ideally at home on the sofa with a cup of tea and your favorite trashy tv show)

Extroverts reset the opposite way:
✔️ People.
✔️ Noise.
✔️ Group activities.

That’s their fuel.

Both introverts and extroverts can be:
• Shy or confident.
• Ambitious or unmotivated.
• Socially smooth or crazy awkward.

Being an introvert doesn’t automatically make you a socially awkward weirdo hiding in a cabin in the woods. 

It just means your “low battery” light turns off when the world finally shuts up for a bit.

So how about we stop treating introverts as socially broken and start seeing it as a different operating system? ✌🏻

The hardest part of good and clean design isn’t what you add...

It is about what you leave out.

So many people cling to every element like their life depends on it:
“But what if people don’t get it?”
“Shouldn’t we add more icons?”
“What about more logos?”
“One extra CTA won’t hurt, right?”

The truth? In most cases, it probably will.

Good design is about clarity and confidence.

Look at Apple:
✔️ One image
✔️ One message
✔️ Total confidence
✔️ No clutter

When you strip away the noise:
✅ Your message gets louder. No distractions competing for attention.
✅ Your audience relaxes. Clean design feels calm and focused.
✅ You look intentional. Less filler = more confidence.

Clearer message, better results.
Make it simple for people to take action. 

So before you add another paragraph, graphic, or “just in case” line to your banner or post, ask yourself:

👉 Does this make my message clearer or just more confusing and louder?

Because clarity converts. Clutter confuses.

A web designer doesn't equal a web developer. 

Yes, they both work on websites, but their jobs are as different as white and black.

Here is the big difference:

➡️ Web Designers: 
- Focus on how the website looks and feels.
- Choose colors, fonts, layouts, and images.
- Make sure the site is user-friendly (and not a maze).
- Use tools like Photoshop, Figma, or Sketch - not code.

➡️ Web Developers: 
- Build the website with programming languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Debug code (and question their life choices when it doesn’t work).
- Make sure buttons actually work when clicked.
- Handle databases, servers, and functionality.

In short: designers bring the style, developers bring the substance. 

Both are essential, just don’t ask one to do the other’s job, because the result won't be pretty.

I see the same LinkedIn banner mistakes every single day...

❌ Too much text. 
Your banner is not a CV. People won’t read paragraphs. Keep it short and punchy.

❌ Blurry images and low quality images. 
it simply screams “I don’t care about quality.”

❌ No clear focus. 
If someone can’t instantly tell what you do, you’ve lost them.

❌ Bad and dated stock photography. 
Stock photos work, but make sure they don’t scream ‘2003 PowerPoint presentation.’

❌ Colour chaos. 
Clashing colours make your profile feel messy and hard to look at. Choose a cohesive palette and make sure there’s enough contrast.

❌ Font nightmares.
Comic Sans called… it wants its career back.

❌ Tiny text.
If people can’t read it in a tiny preview, it doesn’t matter how clever your words are.

❌  Too many elements, not enough white space. 
Your face, your logos, your awards, your dog and 25 offers… It's too much. Pick one main focus and stick with it.
 
Your banner and profile graphics are your first impression.  
They say more about you and your business than you realise.
 
Take a good look at your graphics. Be honest…
