Early in my GTM career, I pushed products I didn't believe in.
I knew weren't ready.
Watched clients struggle with what I sold them.
Hit my KPIs. Made decent money. Felt empty every day.

A client once asked me point blank: "Would you use this yourself?"
I didn't have an answer.
That's when I knew something had to change.

Now I apply the same filter to everything.

The tools I recommend. The content I create. The partnerships I pursue.
If I haven't used it, I don't push it.

I stayed in roles under leaders I didn't respect.

Told myself the experience was worth it. That I'd learn what NOT to do.

Instead, I picked up habits that took years to unlearn.

I learned to avoid hard conversations. 
To optimize for optics over outcomes.
To play politics instead of solving problems.

Bad habits I had to unlearn later.

I ask harder questions. I talk to people who've worked for them. I trust my gut when something feels off.

This one clicked when I was onboarded 115 creators for Canva's Evangelist program now Canvassador Program.

Skills mattered. But the ones who lasted weren't always the most talented.

If someone drained me in a 30-minute call, I knew they'd drain the whole team over 6 months.

I started asking myself: Would I want to be stuck in an airport with this person for 6 hours?

If the answer was no, I didn't hire them. No matter how talented.


Looking back, these rules sound obvious.

But when you're chasing titles or validation, you convince yourself the tradeoff is worth it.

It rarely is.

The best performers in the world rest more than they work.

But we’ve been sold a different story:
- More hours = more success
- Breaks = lazy

I have watched this play out constantly:

🛑The founder who hasn’t taken a real weekend in 8 months. Wonders why the ideas stopped coming.

🛑The operator clocking 70-hour weeks. Can’t figure out why nothing actually moves.

🛑The creator posting every single day. Burns out because “consistency” became a cage.

Same mistake every time.
Mistaking motion for progress.


Nobody wants to admit:

Your next breakthrough won’t come from another all-nighter.

It’ll show up after you finally stop and let your brain breathe.



Peak performance isn’t constant grinding.
It’s knowing when to sprint and when to step back.

Stop treating exhaustion like a badge.
Start building recovery into your operating system.

In a few hours, I turn 35.
I don't know how to feel about it.

Part of me still feels like that 25-year-old who was just figuring things out.

Wide-eyed. Convinced there was endless time.

The other part looks back at the last decade and realizes how much has changed.

I got married. Built a career. Made mistakes. Learned from them. 
Started over more times than I can count.

Watched friends have kids, move across the country, build lives that look nothing like what we imagined at 25.

And somewhere in all of that, I tried to keep showing up.

Some days I did. Some days I just survived.
Some days I felt stuck and questioned everything.

Closing out 34, one thing keeps running through my head:

The uncertainty never goes away. You just get better at living with it.
The messy middle doesn't end. It just becomes your life.

And one day, I'll look back at 35 and miss it too.
The growth. The confusion. All of it.


I'll miss having these problems. Being in the thick of building. 
Still having so much runway ahead.

So instead of worrying about getting older, I'm choosing to actually live this year.

Not rushing to the next milestone.
Not waiting for things to feel settled. Just here.
In the uncomfortable, uncertain, still-becoming version of my life.

The hamster wheel doesn't slow down.
You have to jump off.

And yeah, it's terrifying.

Waking up 5 years from now in the exact same spot.

If nothing changes, where will you be in 5 years?

Still here?
Still waiting?
Still telling yourself next year will be different?

I turn 35 today.

I've owned the domain KarmicXchange for 8 years.

Renewed it every year. Built nothing on it.

The idea was a karma economy for communities. 
Track good deeds.
Turn kindness into something visible and redeemable.

I loved talking about it. Never shipped it.

For 6 months, I kept opening my laptop to build it. 
Staring at the screen. Closing it. 
Telling myself next weekend.

Annual review season just wrapped up.
🔺 Cost of living up 15%.
🔻 Average raise? 3%.

HR called it "above average."
Because most people got 2%.

So the reward for staying loyal is losing purchasing power slightly slower than your coworkers.

That's not a raise.

✅ The fastest way to build trust is boring: do what you said you'd do, when you said you'd do it. 
Miss a deadline once and people forgive you. 
❌ Miss three and you're labeled unreliable forever.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀.

AI: shuts down from redundancy overload


Your job is safe.
Not because AI can't do it.

But because AI can't pretend to be excited about "synergy" for 6 hours straight.

The robots will wait.

Show your thinking, not just outcomes.

• What you're testing
• Results you're getting

Naval Ravikant said something about careers that most people scroll past.

1️⃣ I used to be the guy who planned everything. 

Projects, launches, ideas - all stuck in my head for months. Years, sometimes. 

Then I joined a hackathon on a random weekend. 

Built a gratitude app. Combined journaling with gamification and Amazon vouchers for top users. 

Weird? Absolutely. But I shipped it.

That app taught me what Naval already knew:

Adobe just acquired Semrush for $1.9 billion.

And it’s officially the dawn of the "Full-Stack Marketing Cloud".

While it looks small compared to the failed $20B Figma bid, this is arguably a much smarter play.

Here is the full breakdown of why this happened, the risks, and what you need to do next.

Adobe already owns Creation (Photoshop) and Engagement (Marketo). But they lacked the "Visibility Layer."

1. Top-of-Funnel Data: 
Semrush’s 25B keyword database fills the gap between creation and analytics.

2. The Rise of GEO: 
Traffic from AI chatbots (ChatGPT, Perplexity) to retail sites is up 1,200% YoY. Adobe is buying the R&D to win the AI answer box.

3. SMB Gateway: 
Adobe is heavy on Enterprise. Semrush brings 116k+ customers (mostly SMBs) to upsell into the Adobe ecosystem.

Now, Figma had a direct overlap with Adobe XD. Regulators killed it.
Semrush, however, is an adjacent market (SEO). Lower price tag. Much lower antitrust scrutiny.

So, what exactly changes for Marketers? 

Imagine a single login where you:
- Generate an image in Firefly optimized for real-time keyword clusters.
- Publish via Experience Cloud.
- Track ranking in ChatGPT and Google simultaneously.

It's a full-stack experience in one place! 

However, there are some risks involved: 
1. Pricing: 
Adobe loves bundles. The affordable $129/mo Semrush plans could disappear behind enterprise walls.

2. Culture: 
Semrush is nimble (~200 updates/year). Can they maintain that speed inside a giant?

3. Competition: 
HubSpot and Salesforce now lack deep organic data. Expect them to look at acquiring Moz, Conductor, or Ahrefs to keep up.


Distribution data is now as critical a moat as design software.

And Adobe just built the first true Design-to-Distribution cloud.

Everyone is talking about Gemini 3 reclaiming the #1 spot.

But the most important line in Sundar Pichai’s announcement was this:

“Trained entirely on Google TPUs.” 

For a decade, the AI arms race was simple: Who can buy the most Nvidia H100s the fastest? 

If you wanted frontier performance, you paid the "green-team tax" (Nvidia's margin). 

Google just proved you can hit frontier scores without a single Nvidia GPU. No rented clusters. Google’s own silicon, end-to-end. 

Google is converting an internal chip into an external platform. 

Anthropic and Midjourney have already inked multi-billion-dollar commitments to run on TPU clouds. 

Why this shifts the landscape for investors and builders:

1. The Moat Shift: 
The moat is moving from "who has the GPUs" to "who owns the full stack" (Chip → Model → Cloud). 

2. Cost Deflation: 
We might also be looking at a race to the bottom for per-token pricing. 

3. Silicon Diversity: 
The duopoly is shifting to a tri-opoly (Nvidia, Google, AWS). 

Gemini 3 is Google declaring independence from Nvidia - and inviting the rest of the ecosystem to ride shotgun.

Those waiting for "market clarity" on hardware are going to end up paying the next tax. 

Those refactoring for silicon diversity now will keep their margins.

We've been measuring the wrong thing with our newsletter.

Everyone obsesses over open rates. We did too. Then we noticed something weird: our highest-opening subscribers never bought anything, never referred anyone, never even replied.

Meanwhile, the people who wrote back—even just "thanks" or "this broke"—they stuck around. They bought workshops. They introduced us to sponsors.
So we changed our entire system. Now we judge every newsletter issue by one metric: how many people hit reply.

Our welcome email asks one question: "What's your biggest growth puzzle?" If less than 30% of new subscribers reply, we kill that acquisition channel. Brutal, but it works.

The math is simple:
- Skimmers open everything, engage with nothing
- Responders might open less, but when they do, they actually care

Plus Gmail loves replies. When someone writes back, Google thinks "this is a real conversation" and keeps you in Primary. No subject line hack can match that.

Here's what surprised me most: when we started building each newsletter around yesterday's replies—literally solving the problems people emailed us about—retention went through the roof.

Is this scalable? Probably not.
Is it working? Our balance sheet says yes.

Your ROAS might be a lie. 

Imagine you own a pizza shop. Business is okay, but you want to grow. 

So, you hire Ralph to hand out coupons.

Ralph is expensive, but he promises results. 

At the end of the day, Ralph comes back beaming. 

"Boss! I gave out 1,000 coupons, and 900 of them were redeemed! That’s a 90% conversion rate!"

You are thrilled. You pay Ralph his commission.


But the next day, you watch Ralph work. 

You see him standing inside the pizza shop, handing coupons to people who are already in line to order.

These people were hungry. They had their wallets out. They were going to buy a pepperoni slice with or without Ralph. 

Ralph didn't generate those sales. He just became an added tax for the business.

This is exactly what is happening in your retargeting campaigns right now.

Without a Holdout Group (a segment of users you deliberately don't show ads to), you are just paying Ralph (or Meta) to stand in the lobby.

Don’t let the dashboard fool you. 

Fire Ralph. Or at least, make him stand down the street.
