LinkedIn is changing engagement again…

They’re cracking down on fake activity and engagement pods, and here’s what’s changing:

- Automated comments from third-party tools won’t show up in “Most Relevant”
- These comments might only be visible to the commenter’s direct network
- Repeat offenders could face account restrictions

LinkedIn is getting smarter at detecting and blocking pod activity and fake engagement.

It sounds like a step in the right direction, but LinkedIn has tried this before, and it hasn’t always worked as expected. 

Sometimes, real creators end up taking the hit because the algorithm can’t always tell automated activity from genuine posts. Reach drops, impressions drop, and that can be really demotivating for people who are actually putting in the work.

So while tackling spam is important, the bigger challenge is making sure authentic voices don’t get buried.

Most days, I’m not the “crush the morning” type person.

I’m just… consistent-ish, human, figuring things out as I go.

And that’s completely okay.

Because you don’t need peak energy to show up everyday.

Especially on LinkedIn, because what matters more than intensity is authenticity.

And my “strategy” here is painfully simple:
- Share when something genuinely feels worth saying
- Talk about what I’m actually learning, not what sounds impressive
- Celebrate other people loudly
- Have real conversations in the comments
- Share my opnions boldly

That’s it. And somehow, that “average” approach opened doors I didn’t even know existed.

So if you’re thinking:
- My story is too small
- My wins aren’t big enough
- I’m not expert enough

Post anyway. This platform doesn’t reward extraordinary as much as it rewards real. You don’t need to be exceptional, but visible.

And visibility starts with being unapologetically you.

Nobody cares about your story until you take a side.


Most people share experiences, but very few share opinions.

And opinions are what help you position.

- Say what you believe because it happened
- Be specific about what you reject
- What common advice do you disagree with?

Replace “this worked for me” with “here’s why this approach is flawed.”

No one remembers the most agreeable voice in the room, they remember the clearest thinker.

But the real problem is generic noise. The feed is full, but real attention goes to people who cut through it with clarity, not volume.

Here are 3 practical ways to actually stand out:

Nail one hyper-specific angle - Don't be a "coach" or "founder building SaaS." Be the person who helps solopreneur coaches turn one signature offer into 6 figures without burnout, or the founder sharing raw post-mortems on failed pivots in niche X.

Lead with raw, human value first - Skip the humblebrags and recycled tips. Share the messy lesson from last week's client disaster or a contrarian take backed by your real data.

Engage like it's your full-time job (at first) - Post consistently, yes, but spend more time dropping thoughtful, perspective-shifting comments on posts in your niche. Not "Great insight!" but "This reminds me of when I tried Y, and it backfired because Z, here's what I'd change now."

You're not going to get reach on day 1.

But be consistent, and by day 100, the right people will start noticing, commenting, and DMing.
