I recently sat down with Nadja Komnenic (Head of Sales at HeyReach.io) to peek under the hood of their Go-To-Market machine.

We often hear about the strategy, but rarely do we get the full list of tools that power the execution.

Your web scraping is not “data-driven”.

It is just data until you add real GTM acumen and sales intuition.

I spoke about this with Jorge B. Macías on my GTM Advantage podcast.

Jorge went from:
- manually reading websites after 6pm as a rep
- to building scraping systems with Clay and Apify
- to turning raw web data into real pipeline

Same internet.
Different outcome.

Because scraping is not “collect all the things”.

Scraping for GTM means:
- pulling reviews from Glassdoor and TrustPilot to spot pain
- using Google Maps to find locations that match your ICP
- turning those signals into sharp, specific outreach

You are not hunting “more leads”.
You are hunting proof a buyer has a problem you can fix.

Here is the line I loved from Jorge:

“You can scrape data, but without GTM acumen, it is just data.”

Here is what that means in practice:
- if you have never carried quota, your filters make no sense
- if you have never done cold calls, your “signals” stay vague
- if you have never written your own sequences, your copy stays generic

His advice for beginners:
- start as an SDR, get on the phone, feel the pain
- learn to sell before you “engineer”
- then use tools like Clay and Apify to scale what already works

Future GTM belongs to people who speak two languages:
- automation
- sales

They say “money is in the follow-ups.”

But I see a common problem in GTM: when reps are managing hundreds of contacts and doing manual outreach, leads always slip through the cracks.

The fix is simple: automate the nurture.

Here's the workflow I use:

Step 1: Capture engagement
I use PhantomBuster to track follower activity and profile visits, and Trigify.io to capture post engagement data. This shows you who's already paying attention.

Step 2: Enrich and qualify
Next, I send that engagement data to Clay to enrich contact and company information, then cross-check with the CRM to avoid duplicate outreach.

Step 3: Confirm ICP fit
Then, we filter out anyone who doesn't match the ICP before any outreach begins.

Step 4: Initiate nurture
For qualified, interested leads who haven't booked yet, we automatically move them into a subsequence that delivers value over time. Think relevant content, case studies, anything that keeps them engaged.

The key is making sure no interested lead ever goes cold because the team was too busy to follow up manually.

You can even apply this to competitor engagement. I use Trigify.io to see who's engaging with competitors' content, run them through the same workflow, and reach out while the interest is warm.
