Lately I’ve been speaking to people who struggle to sleep well.

There are a few reasons why rest doesn’t come as easily as it used to:

• our minds are on overdrive all day 
• too much screen time reduces melatonin production 
• historically high solar activity disrupts Earth's magnetic field and our nervous systems

Our minds are unable to switch off and the body can't regenerate fully.

That's why brain fog, fatigue, and irritability feels familiar the next day.

What I see most often in my work is this:

We feel less present in our bodies. 

Disconnected from our intuition, natural rhythm, and sense of safety.

That’s why sleep doesn’t start at night.

It starts during the day with how we protect our sense of balance.

Nervous system flexibility is key - it's the ability to move between activation and deep rest rather than living in a constant cortisol-driven state.

Here are a few simple practices I use myself and share with clients:

1. Start your day with natural light (and not your phone).

Early morning light on your face helps reset your circadian rhythm and sets the foundation for better sleep at night. Keep your phone away at least for an hour.

2. Create a daily breathwork practice 

• Morning - activate energy and support hormonal balance (e.g. breath of fire)
• During the day - short pauses to re-center before meetings or during breaks
 (e.g. heart coherence breathing)
• Evening - to downshift the nervous system before sleep (e.g. 4–7–8 breathing)

3. Use sound & frequency to guide the body into rest

A few minutes of Yoga Nidra or gentle sound healing frequencies before bed can calm the mind and signal safety to the body.

4. Support the nervous system with gentle herbs & teas like: 

 Chamomile
 Passionflower
 Valerian
 Lemon balm
 L-theanine

5. Work with touch and scent.

Lavender essential oil and gentle pressure on calming points in the hands can quickly reduce stress.

6. Protect your evenings for deep rest.

Limit screens at least one hour before bed, find something fun to read or listen to, and sleep in a cool, quiet, and dark environment.

There’s nothing quite like a good night’s sleep.

Feeling rested, grounded, and alive in your body.

And when it doesn’t come naturally, having simple, embodied practices to return to can be a true lifesaver.

I’m curious, what helps you sleep deeply?

I’ve been asking myself an uncomfortable question lately:

Where am I still looking outside for validation?

For a long time, I’ve noticed how easy it was to look outside for validation.

Wanting to be seen, heard, and appreciated.  

And therefore doing ALL the things to feel that way. 

Lately I felt like I had been giving a lot of my time and energy to others.

I've been holding space, giving, and showing up.

Always being the reliable & available one.

And yet, it didn’t always come back in the same way.

You might recognise this if you’ve ever:

• Waited for a message that didn’t come
• Felt deflated when your effort went unnoticed
• Kept showing up, hoping this time it would be met

I started feeling off. Like there was a lack of flow and my creativity was blocked. 

The truth is we need to see ourselves deeply first.

During a somatic session, a deeper insight surfaced.

There was tenderness around my heart. At the bottom of it, I met a younger version of me that felt tight, constricted, and slightly hunched.

A part that wasn’t always held or supported.

She so deeply wanted to be seen and appreciated.

And now that’s the part of me that kept looking outside.

But the shift happened when I turned toward her.

When I let myself truly see her (not to fix her), just witness and offer the love, care, and appreciation she had been seeking elsewhere.

And all of a sudden something shifted.

It felt like my heart stitched itself back into wholeness.

Energy returned and the stuck parts came back online.

So what's the deeper insight here?

We need to see ourselves deeply first:

• The good parts
• The messy parts
• The parts we still carry shame around

We need to feel what lives in the body.

Trace it back to its origin, shine light on it, and meet it with love.

And let it move through tears, shaking, breath, or gentle movement.

Because that’s where true freedom lives.

And that’s how we actually embody who we’re here to be.

When we see ourselves fully first, the outside will meet us there too.

Because the external world mirrors what's within.

It’s named one of the top keywords to watch in 2026 by Women's Health.

And yet embodiment has never been a trend.

It’s a lifelong connection to your core self.

Most of my clients don't come to me saying: “I want embodiment.”

They come saying things like:
• “I feel disconnected from myself.”

Embodiment is about fully inhabiting your body.

Feeling grounded, present, and alive.

It’s listening to your body’s cues like tightness, fatigue, and other sensations as intelligence asking for your attention.

It’s feeling your emotions without suppressing or numbing them so they can move through you.

When that happens you get into a state of flow.

You stop carrying patterns that were never yours.

And you come back into alignment with your values, gifts, and purpose.

Embodiment works on multiple levels.

Here’s how I guide my clients into it:

1. Breathwork (physiological)

 – regulate the nervous system
 – increase focus, calm, and energy
 – release stored fear, trauma, and overthinking
 – build the capacity to hold more & stay present under pressure

2. Chakra & energy activation (emotional & spiritual)

 – activate peace, joy, love, and gratitude
 – harmonize masculine and feminine energy
 – awaken intuition, heart wisdom, and creative power
 – reconnect with a deeper sense of purpose and belonging

Embodiment is about coming home to who you already are.

Not just in your mind but as a full-body experience.
