The energy was unreal.

K-beauty is next level. Wild to see brands that have been established in Korea for years enter the UK and almost immediately start taking serious market share and climbing to top-seller status in beauty.

A few takeaways I can’t stop thinking about:

✨Creators were locked in. Asking thoughtful questions, actively listening, literally taking notes while brands spoke about their products

✨UK brands are still early in adopting automations and outreach agents — US brands tend to move faster on software, but that gap is closing quickly

✨Giving creators product before launch is such a power move. It builds excitement and lets creators prep content so launches hit bigger and faster

Had a conversation today with someone early in their sales career who wanted to pick my brain after 4+ years in SaaS.

They asked what the most important things to focus on are.

I talked about:

😊 Being friendly. People buy from people: a  smile goes a long way.
❤️Remembering the small details : names, context, follow-ups- it matters more than you think.
🫶🏼Connecting people to others who can help them, even when there’s nothing in it for you.

Then they asked about negotiations, discovery, and cold calls.

My answer:

Those things will change from role to role, company to company, and market to market.

But the fundamentals above?

Those stay with you for your entire career.

Sales tactics evolve.

Showing up as great human doesn't.

That’s the real long game.

The fact that the tracksuit Nicolás Maduro wore during his arrest sold out tells you everything about where commerce is headed.

This is the social commerce flywheel in action:
visibility → social proof → urgency → sellout → even more visibility.

The sellout becomes the ad.
The comments become the landing page.
The algorithm does the rest.

When culture, content, and checkout live in the same place, conversion isn’t forced — it’s inevitable.

I became a creator to learn.

To see what brands are doing well, what they can do better, and how we can better educate creators and bridge the gap between the two.

As a creator, I get hundreds of brand messages a day.

Most blend together.
Same compliments.
Same copy.

Same “we love your content.”

But this week, one brand actually stopped me mid-scroll.

They didn’t flatter me.
They didn’t pitch me.

They sent me their creator leaderboard.

Names.
Numbers.
Exactly how much each creator had generated.

And instantly, I understood the opportunity.

Not “we love your vibe.....but “here’s what’s possible if you promote our brand.”

That level of transparency did more than any DM script ever could.

It showed me where I could win.

Takeaways for brands in my network:
💡Creators think in outcomes, not compliments
💡Show proof, not promises
💡Share wins—especially creator wins
💡Make the opportunity obvious, not abstract

If you want creators to care, show them what success looks like.

That’s what caught my eye this week 👀

Are your brand DMs getting ignored?

This week, I received a DM from a brand that immediately caught my attention with its first line: “High commission, free sample, $5,000 ad budget.” 

This message conveyed everything I needed to know as a creator:
• The brand is serious
• They understand creator incentives
• They’re willing to invest in the content, not just request it

When brands lead with clarity and commitment, creators take notice.

In contrast, the typical message I receive is: “Hey! Love your content, want to collab?” Creators receive hundreds of these weekly.

The brands that stand out:
✔️ Are upfront about commission
✔️ Offer samples without friction
✔️ Clearly state paid amplification or ad spend
✔️ Show readiness to scale what works

For better creator responses, avoid vagueness. Lead with the upside. Creators seek partnerships, not just free products.

Whenever I speak to a brand that’s questioning whether TikTok Shop is “working” for them…

The conversation almost always comes back to the same thing:

🧐 they’re evaluating the channel before it’s been given enough scale or volume.

You can’t decide what works when you’re operating on a very small sample size.

Most brands look at early results and say:

“Creators aren’t converting.”

But the reality is:

• The majority of creators will never be revenue drivers
• On average, ~10% of creators drive almost all GMV
• You don’t see that 10% immediately
• You only uncover them through volume

The same applies to the Amazon halo effect.

You don’t launch on TikTok Shop and instantly see Amazon lift. You earn it through consistency, creator velocity, repetition, and scale.

TikTok Shop isn’t a “test and pause” channel.
It’s a distribution engine.

If you stop before you scale, you’re not failing - you’re just quitting before the data becomes meaningful.

Scale creates signal.
Signal creates winners.
Winners create revenue.
