I was born in 2002. And I think this tweet is complete BS. 

Yes, I get it. The 2002/2003 batch got hit with the worst possible things, lol. 

Boards in 10th, boards in 12th, three attempts for JEE instead of two, and then lockdown right when college was supposed to start. People are still cribbing about it years later. 

But this is just picking the worst possible outcome of every single year and stringing them together.

My first year of college was online. I sat in my room and played The Witcher 3 for an entire semester. Genuinely, that is all I did.

Second semester, I woke up. Did six unpaid internships between September and December. Joined LinkedIn, thinking it would help me find more internships. It was a weird place back then, nothing like it is now. But I stayed.

By 2022, I had six certificates and nothing else going for me. Then an inbound came. First job, 7,000 a month. Three months later, 13,000. Four months after that, I was pulling 30,000 a month between writing and freelance work. I survived on that for 1.5 years.

Now AI is here. Instead of worrying about it, I built internal tools with Claude Code for LinkedIn and Instagram. It has given me back time I did not have before.

You can stare at everything going wrong and convince yourself the deck is stacked against you. Or you can look at what is actually in front of you right now.

I do not know what 2038 holds. 
But 2026 is right here.

That is where I am looking.

Everyone in their 20s is jealous of someone else right now.

The marketing guy is jealous of the engineer making 1.6 lakhs a month. The engineer is jealous of the 23-year-old founding a startup and building whatever he wants. 

The startup guy is jealous of the street vendor outside his office, clearing 2 lakhs a month with 1 lakh straight profit. The street vendor is probably jealous of someone else, too.

The grass is always greener. 
Everyone seems to have something cool that you do not.

I graduated in CSE last year and became a writer instead of an engineer. I have not solved a single LeetCode problem. My batchmates were grinding DSA while I was writing blogs in the computer lab. There were moments where I genuinely wondered if I had picked wrong.

But here is what I have also seen.

Three years ago, I was doing unpaid internships. Then a job that paid 7,000 a month. Then 13,000. Then 30,000 for 1.5 years straight before things started to actually move. It happened in phases that took over 3 years to complete. 

That is just how it works.

I think the problem people in their 20s are dealing with, that’s not being underlined btw is not that they picked the wrong path. 

It is that they are trying to compress 3 to 5 years of skill-building into 6 months because the world keeps telling them they are already behind.

We are swinging like a pendulum. On one side: it takes time to build skills, trust the process, and keep going. On the other: we do not have time, AI is coming, everyone else is already ahead. Back and forth, every single day.

Focus on your area. It pays off. Maybe not on the timeline you wanted, but it does.

The most employed, most successful, most paid person on LinkedIn/Twitter is always someone's friend. Never them. Always a friend.

Your dad probably switched 3 to 4 jobs in his entire 30 to 40-year career.

You could switch that many times in the next 5 to 6 years alone. That is just how fast things are moving right now, and honestly, that is both scary and freeing at the same time.

The IAS/IFS stability looks really good from the outside right now. I understand why. But let's actually look at the numbers for UPSC CSE 2025:

- Total applicants: around 13 to 14 lakh
- Total seats available: 979
- Candidates finally selected: 958
- Overall selection rate: 0.1%
- Average prep time before cracking it: 5 to 7 years

That security is real. It is just not built for everyone, and the competition to get there has only gotten tougher.

What has actually shifted is the game itself. The old idea that you find one place and stay for 40 years does not apply anymore. Right now, you can work somewhere for a year, pick up what you need, and move. You can build a skill so specific that the market starts coming to you.

We are in a skill-based economy. That is just where things are. The bar for what is considered normal will go up. The bar for what is considered good will go even higher. Everything is climbing, and that is why you need to stack skills and become undeniable. 

My skills sponsored my brother's education. Helped my family get to a better place. Three years of building something specific and staying consistent with it did that.

That is the play in 2026. Not waiting for a seat that 0.1% of people will ever get, but getting so good at something that the market has no choice but to meet you where you are.

Step 1: Have 50 lakhs in cash just casually vibing on your sofa.

I quit my shot at a 9-5 two years ago and have been working 24/7 ever since. Best decision I made, honestly. 

Rejected Mu Sigma, 4.5 LPA in Bangalore, to write full-time. Was already making close to that money, so the math made sense, also BLR is very expensive to live well on that amount. 

What I did not think about is that a job, even a bad one, holds some structure for you that you do not notice until it is gone.

My last three years have looked like this:

- Saturdays writing client posts
- Sundays are doing ideation and research
- No real distinction between a weekday and a weekend
- Every day is just a workday at this point

I am not complaining. This is the trade I made, and I am good with it.

But if you are sitting on a Sunday feeling anxious about Monday, and dreaming about quitting, just know that the anxiety does not disappear. It just changes shape. 

When you go out on your own, you are handling the work, the invoicing, the client communication, and setting your own limits, all by yourself.

A 9-5 still has some structure, even if the manager is terrible. Once you leave, that structure is fully on you to build.

Get into the habit of setting your own boundaries now, before you quit or if you’re entertaining that possibility. 

The exit is worth it, but only if you go in knowing what you are actually signing up for.

I graduated in 2024 from a tier-3 college in CSE. I’ve never worked as a software engineer and yet Senior Engineers & Engineering Managers from Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Atlassian have me on speed dial. 

Yep, these are: 
- Engineering Managers leading teams of 50+ people
- Senior Engineer with 7-8 years of experience
- Engineers who have worked at all 4 FAANGs
- Principal Software Engineer & Staff Software Engineers. 

When I was in my first year of college, just the name Google carried so much weight. Getting in there felt like a dream. I was not even close to that world. 

But people from that world are now close to me. Because I handle their LinkedIn and have been pretty instrumental in building their personal brand.

- Have taken 1 client from 5k to 110k in 12 months
- Have taken 1 client from 3k in October 2025 to now 53k+ in Feb ~ 5 months
- Took 1 client making 6 Lakhs revenue in 1 month to 40 Lakhs revenue over a period of 10 months. 

That is the thing about LinkedIn. It does not care where you studied. It cares what you can do.

A tier 3 college kid from Chandigarh is now the guy that engineers at the world's biggest tech companies trust with their voice online.

Still wrapping my head around that one.
It is a crazy privilege and a responsibility I carry proudly.

The version of me playing Witcher 3 in my first year at CGC would have never imagined being on a call with a Director of Engineering at Meta. The guy who literally led the team of engineers building the Meta Raybans.

He agreed to buy me a pair as well.
Lowkey flexing. But yeah, that happened.

In the last 3 years, writing has helped me pay for: 
- my bachelor’s degree 
- a whole new wardrobe for dad
- old debt & gold earrings for my mom
- house renovations, a new 7-seater sofa
- my brother’s college fees & pocket money
- a new car for the fam ( 6 seats, hehe, XL6)
- a new M4 Air Mac (when my old laptop broke down)

This year, I am thinking of maximizing my savings to put a down payment on a plot of land. Maybe I’ll get there, maybe I will not. 

I’m 3 years into my 20s, I work 10+ hours, it’s long, exhausting, and gruelling at times, but it’s these things that make it worthwhile. 

I’m nothing special, and this post is not about boasting. Each year, I’ve put my head down and worked with honest effort, and I’ve grown in terms of my goals. 

You might be doing great. 
You might not be where you want to be yet. 

But my point is you need to stop telling yourself, I can’t do this or others are better than me. 

Yamini keeps telling us in the challenge group, how she’s not any good and that’s frankly dead wrong cause bro can do so much only if she comes out of her self-doubt. 

I've also done a lot of bad mental comparison and suffered from it. It took time to realise that the only person I actually need to beat is the one I was last year.

That's literally it. So, go all in on that. 
And be kind to yourself, there are enough people to point out your shortcomings.

I'm 23. Married to my solo ghostwriting business. Living in Chandigarh Tricity and have just been roped into a LinkedIn Challenge by Niraj & Gulsheen Anand.

Before I start, here's everything about me in no particular order.

I’m a LinkedIn ghostwriter for software engineers. 
This is my 2nd year as a proper freelancer.

I have 15 clients right now. 10 in India, 5 in the USA. I ship 10 to 11 posts daily. On heavy days 13 or 14.

Graduated in CSE with 8.6 CGPA in 2024. Was writing blogs in the computer lab the whole time, lol. Rejected a placement offer from Mu Sigma, 4.5 LPA in Bangalore. 

Was already making that money writing working at an agency under my college senior who turned to scamming people (more on that story later)

The family fell on hard times for a while when I was in school. Now they do not worry about bills. Painted the house last year. New sofa. Brother's college is also handled.

Oh, also, last year I generated 230 million impressions collectively. One post did 4.1 million impressions and 76,000 likes. That single post got me 4 clients.

Bought a car in 2024. Six seater. Have not driven it once. Not even reversed it. It just sits there looking at me (Drive of shame? Idk lol)

Got a cat the same year. She’s now 1 year & 1 quarter old. I call her Cat. Yes, literally Cat (and terrorist as well). No I will not be taking questions.

I am up at 1or 2am on most nights, sometimes for no reason. I rarely leave my room. Socialising is genuinely, maybe my worst skill.

90 to 95% of my clients have stayed. 
I’ve been relationship over transaction, always.

I’m planning to put down a payment on a property for the fam this year, let’s see how that goes. That’s pretty much everything.

At 23, with zero proper corporate experience, I probably know more Senior Engineers and Engineering Managers at Google, Microsoft, Meta, and Atlassian than most engineers do, even after working for 3-4 years. 

That sounds like a flex (lol, I know, but I’m not bragging)
This has been due to the relationships and hard work of upskilling in the last 3 years. 

Three weeks ago, I wrote a post about how promotions work at Meta. It got 500+ likes & 100k+ impressions. 

I routinely write system design and coding interview posts for engineers with 10 to 15 years of experience. One of my clients got called the System Design King by his audience. Someone on Twitter literally called him the System Monarch.

How can I, who’s never even solved a two-sum problem on Leetcode in his life, teach these things to Sr. Engineers? 

It’s all because I listen and do a lot of analysis.  When it comes to ghostwriting. Your client is your biggest resource, but only if you know how to pull it out of them. 

Most people go blank when you ask them questions. Most people do not even know what they know. So you have to do the work on your end.

I listen. I ask dumb questions. I go do the research, read the resources, use AI, and dig into what is actually out there. 

Then I take all of that and turn it into something an engineer 10 years senior to me finds useful enough to put their name on and people actually praise it (lowkey unbelievable tbh)

That is the whole job, honestly. Listen. Analyse. Package it. 

You can apply this to any niche. It is not about already knowing everything. It is about being the person who is always willing to go find out.

8 days ago, I started a 1-week LinkedIn posting challenge with about 2,000 followers and 113 impressions.

This is how it went: 
- 2,570+ followers
- 629k+ impressions
- 3 inbound leads generated
- 1 potential client waitlisted
- 440 new people added to my network
- 200k+ impressions on the last day alone

All of that with just 12 posts lol and with almost a dead profile, lol. 

Niraj did 60+. One of his posts snowballed so big that Stephen Bartlett commented on it. 

He ended around 820k impressions and won by more than 200k. At one point, I told him, "Big Dawg, words don't win challenges, impressions do."

That aged terribly. Moving on (But, not really 😭)

I do want to take a second here because Niraj deserves some serious appreciation. 

I have watched this guy type on LinkedIn like a madman for months and months, even when he had barely any likes. Failing at challenges, starting over and over. Experimenting constantly, never quitting. 

We have worked on projects together, and even when nothing direct was happening, just being connected to him has been valuable in ways that are hard to explain.

One thing about Niraj is that if you come to him with a problem, he will intuitively figure out what you are actually feeling and just hand you the solution, without you even having to say all of it. 

He was not snobbish about winning either. In a fun way he was (he earned it, lol), but more than anything, he was just pushing everyone to get out there and post. 

That says a lot about who he is. He does not take praise well, so I hope he sits with this one because it is genuine.

Now for the rest of the crew:

Gulsheen Anand is the voice of reason. She will just show up and deliver a slap. Not Gen Z slaps. Actual little slaps of clarity when you need them most. (You will understand when you meet her)

Yamini started out doubtful but has been taking steps consistently.Something good is beginning there, and I think she will do very well. She even picked up a new project during the challenge, which makes me genuinely happy.

Srishti V Verma, it was fun throwing ideas around with her. If Niraj is the big dawg of this group, Shrishti was the small dawg. (bro, you still didn’t post those ideas, big L)

A few things I am taking away from all of this:

1/ Go for volume if you are just starting. You will learn more from 60 posts in a week than 6 posts in a month. Niraj literally proved this in real time.

2/ Do not disqualify yourself before you start. I watched people convince themselves they could not win before they even tried. That belief travels with you and will block you later, so take the plung, dawg. 

3/ Do not celebrate too early. I slowed down two days before the end and lost my lead (my sandwich and I will be salty about this for the next 4 weeks)
