Over the past 10+ years, I went from being a freelance project manager to building a 7-figure agency that employs over 20 people.

Everyone thinks LinkedIn content is for visibility.

But if that’s your goal, you’re losing the game.

Most founders treat content like a numbers game.

Your post gets 10k impressions, 100 likes.
A big dopamine hit and a follower bump.

Then a decision-maker hits your profile.

What do they see? More noise.

No depth, no expertise, no credibility.

Just another generalist polluting the feed.

Visibility feels like growth.

But the wrong content is quietly eroding your
positioning and pushing real buyers away.

So, don’t create to be popular. Create to be useful.

The kind of content that gets sent in a Slack group with:

“This explains what we’ve been trying to solve.”

That happens when you stop sharing random tips,
And start diagnosing real problems.

When you combine strategic perspective
with operator-level specificity.

If you want to build a stronger online presence, 

Ignore mainstream advice like: Post more. Increase frequency. Increase surface area. Stay visible.

That logic made sense when attention was underpriced and organic distribution was reliable. 

It makes less sense now when most timelines are saturated, the marginal post adds little, the extra hour spent producing it adds even less.

Yet creators continue to accelerate. 

They publish daily, sometimes multiple times a day, trying to maintain momentum. The result is predictable. Fatigue rises and quality declines. 

Higher content volume doesn’t serve 
the creator, it serves the platform.

Social media companies benefit from volume.

More posts mean more inventory, more engagement loops, more data. You carry the production burden. They capture the economic leverage.

But there’s a more rational approach to audience-building: Reduce output, increase standard, and reallocate time to distribution.

Smart marketing is about capital allocation. Where you choose to invest your time, effort, and budget determines your outcomes. You can’t do everything at once.

Consider how authority was built before the algorithm.

Musicians didn’t write a new album every week. 

They toured the same 12 songs for years. The material improved through repetition. The audience grew through exposure.

Authors didn’t publish a new book every quarter. 

They planned speaking tours around one central idea and refined it with a live audience. The thesis strengthened because it was tested, challenged, and defended repeatedly.

Reputation came from depth and 
distribution, not volume.

Online, we flipped the model. 

We generate endlessly and promote casually. We optimise for novelty instead of mastery. The result isn’t authority. It’s more noise.

A more durable strategy looks like this:

Produce one substantial piece every week. Make it rigorous. Ground it in lived experience. Include specifics, trade-offs, and outcomes. Then allocate time and budget so it reaches the right people.

Instead of a feed full of disposable posts, 
you build a body of work. 

Over time, distribution becomes easier 
because your ideas are clearer.

You reduce cognitive strain, thinking improves, and originality returns because you stop pandering to the algorithm. 

You differentiate in an environment dominated by imitation. When others optimise their catchy hooks, you optimise depth and substance.

Many creators are burning out because they are trying to keep up with a system designed to keep them producing. It’s a strategic misalignment.

A business that relies on constant output is fragile.

Miss a week and momentum breaks. A business built on durable intellectual assets is more resilient. Each piece continues to work long after publication.

If you feel trapped in the content cycle, 
that is a signal to change your strategy. 

Create work worth distributing. 
Then distribute it properly.

Convincing founders that marketing is the heart and soul of every successful business is as fun as convincing your kids to eat their vegetables.

You know it's good for them. You care. They don't.

They don't care because they don't understand.
So it's your responsibility to educate them.

Same thing applies when you're selling your product or service. Your customers will only care if they understand.

It's your job as a founder to educate them.

7 signals shaping the creator economy in 2026:

1. Educational content is losing its edge

Frameworks, tips, and how-to posts used to signal expertise. Now they’re baseline, a requirement, not a differentiator. What’s rising instead is storytelling, perspective, and taste. Not just what you know, but how you see it, and how you communicate it.

2. AI has created a wave of pretend experts

AI didn’t just speed things up, it gave people opinions they never formed and confidence they never earned. For a while, volume might win, but markets correct. Outcomes matter, and over time, people who’ve done the work will be the only ones left standing.

3. Algorithms will get better at filtering noise

Engagement hacks won’t work forever. As platforms optimise for retention and trust they’ll reward depth over repetition. The loud creators won’t disappear, but the credible will outlast them.

4. “Proven” business models will be disrupted

Digital products built on information alone are becoming commodities. The upside is shifting toward providing your buyers with tools, systems, and experiences that help them apply knowledge, not just consume it. There’s no place for average products.

5. Micro-brands will outperform mass audiences

The effort-to-upside ratio of audience building isn’t what it used to be. The next phase favours relevance over reach. Smaller audiences, higher trust, clearer positioning. The creators who win won’t be the biggest, but the most useful to a specific group, and with a strong business model backing them.

6. Early movers won’t be rewarded the same way

5 years ago, building an audience had enormous upside. The arbitrage was obvious. That window is closing. New opportunities will emerge, but they’ll reward patience, dedication, and differentiation.

7. Growth will require real investment

As AI removes entry barriers, organic reach will continue to decline. Creators who want to scale will need to take calculated risks. That includes paid distribution, better systems, and actual capital.

Best when you already have a clear offer and a defined audience.

It works best when supported by credible content that prospects can check before replying.

Ads are effective once you have:

A proven offer

A clear message

A reliable sales process

Without those, you’re just paying to accelerate confusion.

Use it when:

✔ You can handle new leads at volume

Avoid it when:

✖ You’re still refining your message

✖ You lack bandwidth to optimise campaigns

The most valuable path to build early — and the one most people neglect.

Content strengthens positioning, builds visibility, and compounds trust over time.

It turns your ideas into digital assets that continue to work even when you step away.

It’s slower at the start but becomes your greatest leverage over time.

Outreach and ads work best when content builds credibility behind the scenes.

Use it when:

✔ You want to build long-term authority

✔ Your clients research before buying

✔ You’re ready to show your thinking publicly

Avoid it when:

✖ You need results this month

✖ You won’t stay consistent for 6+ months

✖ You’re afraid of sharing opinions publicly

Some days you sit down to create... 
and nothing comes out.

Other days you create something, 
but it doesn’t feel like you.

You’re not excited by your ideas, you’re not drawn to your usual topics, and forcing it only makes the friction worse.

Most creators assume they’re losing motivation.

They’re not. This kind of resistance is a signal.

Creator’s block rarely shows up because 
you’re unfocused or undisciplined.

It usually comes down to one thing: misalignment.

1. You’ve outgrown your old content

Your curiosity evolves faster than your content does. When you’re still creating the same type of posts you made a year ago, but your thinking has moved on, you’ll feel that internal mismatch: “This isn’t what I want to say anymore.”

2. Your interests have shifted

No creator is meant to stay in one narrow lane forever. If you’re thinking more about psychology, discipline, identity, ambition, or human behaviour, yet still creating only niche-specific content, your creativity will push back.

3. You’re creating from obligation

Nothing kills creativity faster than “I should post.” Obligation feels heavy, expression feels light. The friction you’re feeling is your system asking for a reset.

You don’t break creator’s block by forcing output. You break it by reconnecting with inputs that spark ideas.

1. Shift from “what you know” to 
“what you’re noticing.”

Fresh content comes from fresh observations.

Start paying attention to:

– What’s changing in your thinking
– Patterns you’re seeing in people
– Mistakes your clients keep repeating
– Moments that shift your perspective
– Questions that keep returning

This gives you a constant stream 
of new material to create from.

2. Follow your curiosity (even outside your niche)

Your audience follows your perspective, not just your niche. Let your content expand into the areas your mind naturally gravitates toward, like psychology, human behaviour, identity, discipline, mastery, etc.

These themes have universal relevance, deepen your authority, and create far more engaging ideas than repeating the same niche-specific points.

3. Slow the volume, sharpen the message.

If your output feels forced, reduce the pace. Quality over frequency. One strong idea feels better to create and performs better than five forgettable posts.

4. Reinforce your creation system

Most creators don’t have a content problem, they have an input problem. Rebuild your system by creating a simple swipe file, an idea bank, a story bank, and a backlog of your best content. 

These tools give you consistent inputs, reduce creative pressure, and make it easier to create even when inspiration is low.

If creating feels harder than it should, 
don’t push through it blindly.

Step back, realign your inputs, expand your ideas.

When you do, friction fades and 
ideas start to flow again.
