Security Awareness Community Manager | Cybersecurity Marketer | OnLine Safety Advocate | LinkedIn Savvy | Cheer Leader for the Cybersecurity Community

I fell into cybersecurity through a previous influencer marketing role building relationships and networking with cybersecurity practitioners where I became aware of my own glaring gaps in online safety knowledge.  

As part of  my own personal journey learning about cybersecurity and working to educate myself I discovered Gaby Friedlander and John Oppdenaker here on LinkedIn. Their insightful posts and easy-to-follow content played a big role in growing my own 'cyber savvy'. 

Seeing the need for awareness within my own personal community I began a grassroots effort to share what I was learning with my network using much of the content Wizer and John created. Their mission and value of making online safety easily accessible to everyone strongly aligned with my own values and after a time I took the plunge and reached out to see how I might join the company to be part of this mission beyond just myself - gratefully, Gaby was open to the possibility.

As such my skills in marketing and community building allowed me to contribute to Wizer's efforts as 'one of the team' and after managing the community for security awareness professionals and having dozens of conversations on building and running security awareness I was able to transition into my current position building security awareness content roadmaps for Wizer's managed client accounts.

My intro into cyber marketing was actually leading a unique project to develop the first-ever cybersecurity influencer platform that provides quality thought-leadership content from leading cybersecurity companies by cybersecurity professionals for curated articles. Through my 2 years on the project I built up a network of global cybersecurity professionals, many of them leading voices here on LinkedIn, helped direct design, oversee website creation, created content and hired an awesome project manager who I knew would take the platform to the next level and I was right :)
