Click-through rate (CTR) is the percentage of people who clicked after seeing your content. On LinkedIn it applies to organic posts (clicks on links, images, your profile) and to ads.

How to calculate it

CTR = clicks divided by impressions, multiplied by 100. If 1,000 people saw your post and 20 clicked the link, your CTR is 2%.

What is a good CTR on LinkedIn?

For organic posts with external links, anything above 1% is decent and above 2% is strong. LinkedIn ads average around 0.4% to 0.6% for sponsored content, so organic posts from personal profiles usually outperform ads.

How to improve it

The biggest levers are the hook (the first two lines of your post) and where you place the link. Posts that deliver value natively and put the link in a natural spot get more clicks than posts that read like ads. Track your CTR over time with a LinkedIn analytics tool to see which formats drive clicks.
