Reach, which LinkedIn calls members reached, is the number of unique people who saw your post at least once. Unlike impressions, it does not count repeat views.

Reach vs impressions

Impressions count every display of your post. Reach counts unique viewers. Impressions will always be equal to or higher than reach. A high impressions-to-reach ratio means the same people are seeing your post several times.

Why reach matters

Reach tells you how many different humans your content actually touched. If your goal is awareness or audience growth, reach is the honest metric: 10,000 impressions seen twice by 5,000 people is not the same as 10,000 unique viewers.

How to grow your reach

Reach expands when people engage, because the LinkedIn algorithm shows engaging posts to second and third degree connections. Consistent posting, strong hooks and early engagement are the main levers. Our guide to the LinkedIn algorithm explains how distribution works in 2026.
