Arizona Department of Corrections

Managed development of report applications for the new prison system. Wrote complex SQL queries and built reports in Telerik. Facilitated customer and executive design sessions, derived requirements from policy and law, conducted system analysis and data research, administered unit and integration tests, tuned reports for performance, coached other developers in the new system. Over 45 complex new ACIS reports and 20 HR reports created in eight months. Project managed the retirement of the mainframe prison and human resources systems.

Program Manager for implementation of the Arizona Correctional Information System, a $30M+ custom-developed system for managing Arizona state prisons and community corrections
• Led a team of project managers, business analysts, operational experts, and vendors in preparing for state-wide system deployment
• Used agile and waterfall techniques to deliver on-schedule more than 2100 TFS (Team Foundation Server) bug fixes in 28 code release iterations, testing of 4000 user scripts, migration of 300k inmate records, development of 150 reports, testing and acceptance of 30 system interfaces, development and delivery of 44 training classes, system training and go-live support for 4000 users, and delivery of 15 scope change requests

•	Program manager for the Hospital Transformation Performance Program, a strategic healthcare initiative of 11 lean projects using agile techniques, achieving $16 million in incentives by exceeding patient care improvement targets; presented performance data from Epic electronic health record
•	End-to-end project manager (PM) for Project Server implementation and its upgrades, involving hundreds of users and > 1500 projects across the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
•	Business intelligence specialist for the Project Management Office; wrote IT Department dashboard (400 employees) using complex SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Excel Services with data from Lawson, Remedy, MS Project Server, and SharePoint databases 
•	Invented innovative ways to use database data to systematize and dramatically improve project approval, staffing, sequencing, and scheduling
•	Technical Project Manager for GHX (Global Healthcare Exchange) Software as a Service (SaaS) implementation project, led a team of client and vendors to transform supply-chain systems; cloud-based and on-premise server implementation; data extract, transform, and load (ETL); cutover and go-live; reorganization and skills training; vendor management
•	Facilitated annual capital, operational, and human resource planning of over $30 million in capital portfolio spending with Legacy Health’s CIO and IT executives

Led a team of consultants in a multi-year engagement with Legacy Health, a non-profit hospital system, to design and implement new processes and technology for their PMO of 70 project managers
