Developed the access and participation activity by  ensuring our marketing activity is continuing to maintain our core values of Winchester.

Student Consultant 

The role allowed me to: be a part of formal discussions surrounding the validation and revalidation of different degree programmes at University. 

I worked alongside panel members (Chair, an external academic, industry representative and event officer) to address student specific concerns in Higher Education (e.g assessing student engagement/experience, assignments, employability routes, quality, support etc.)

Revalidated several degree courses like Sociology, Physiotherapy and Health & Social Care.

Worked in an innovative, collaborative and inspiring Marketing team at a magnificent institution.  I published  weekly newsletters, press releases and publishing sermons on the cathedral website.  I loved completing the social media content for the Christmas Market, Christmas services and events, over 900 years of history at Winchester Cathedral, which is honoured by a great team, that I collaborated with to support the Cathedral's mission and provide an excellent experience for our visitors.

Completed social media reports for the Marketing team to use for analysing the company’s metrics, I love marketing analytics and big data, since various social posts appealed to our community, tourists and customers.

Assisted the Marketing team with photographing and sorted out archive photos into well-established categories. Created an A4 Notice Board on Microsoft Publisher for 'Upcoming Events', which was distributed on the back of Cathedral's public doors. 

Handed out 16/16 'The Elements' Immersive Light and Sound Show by Luxmuralis notice posters to Winchester's wonderful Independents, Fashion, Boutiques and Local Businesses  on our historical high street.  I Attended the 'Discover Winchester Meeting' with the Marketing Team and Stakeholders to go through corporate reports, media & pr and trends in the City of Winchester.

Fotech Group is a fibre optic innovative company (acquired by BP) that showed me the importance of ethics in the IT Services and Consultancy Industry. This work experience was a part of my BTEC Business Diploma, therefore I ended up keeping a red notebook, since I was shadowing these departments: Finance, Technology, R&D, Marketing.

After getting a distinction in my Business Accounting module at sixth form, I had to showcase my accounting skills by conducting finance tasks for the Chief Financial Officer (my supervisor at the time). This included:

- Filling in cashbooks and journals on Excel.
- Analysing management accounts (bank accounts, stock and profitability).
- Reviewed the Director's report.

My interest for Marketing ethics was influenced by learning about various trading regulations and UK/EU laws. The impact of Brexit on tariffs and VAT was an interesting discussion, at the time it was the binary divide between a soft or hard Brexit, that would effect the flow of supplies into the UK and exporting to our trading partners.

Trading with the EU and USMCA Markets was vital for Fotech, since the influence of AI and surveillance was fascinating to learn about, since AI has become even more advanced since 2019. 

I will always be thankful for the good experience at Fotech Group, it's lessons like these that shape you into a stronger person.
