3. My main job is: building and leading the sales side of Streamline Books, a publishing and media company for experienced leaders ready to become authors and speakers!

     --growing sales at a fast growing startup publishing company
     --messaging and storytelling tips
     --authoring my first books
     --and balancing all of that while trying to be a good husband and father

Last week taught me one thing.... 


Last week was one of the more difficult weeks I have had in a long time. 

Fresh off turning 30, I signed my debut publishing deal. Then there was the assassination of Charlie Kirk. And then... the next day, the 2 year anniversary of my wife's best friend’s tragic death. The same day as the anniversary of 9/11. 

I have struggled to find the right words for all of the things above. I struggled to work and show up well. I struggled to find joy. I struggled to fight back panic attacks and sleepless nights. I struggled to try to sit in the tension without sacrificing truth. I just held my daughters and my wife tight, for days, in a haze. I watched videos, interviews, podcasts, prayed, processed visual trauma from that video, tried to empathize with my friends on different sides of the aisle, talked to my wife about her best friend, and then on Sunday morning, my pastor said something that matched what I was feeling fully.  

~ ~ ~ Creation is groaning ~ ~ ~ 

This world, is in pain. 

Our communities are broken-hearted. 

But last week illuminated something deeper.

Something that I felt like Theo Von and his community voiced better than nearly anyone from any perspective.

Last week did not only break our hearts, it broke our souls. Down to the core. Down to the nuts and bolts.

It was an err, in direct opposition of our design.

And we, with our finite understanding, try to cling to whatever we can to process it, or cover it with gauze long enough to move on. 

We rally around politic, around creed, around flags, around perceived virtue.   But nearly all, is for naught.  

 ~ ~ ~ Creation is groaning ~ ~ ~   

Our souls are in pain.   

And we find solace is broken goodness and refreshing evil. Celebrating death is evil. Stabbing your brother or sister in the back is evil. Sin is evil. Choosing Earth over Heaven is evil. Building up solely your voice is evil. Worshipping your politic and your idols is evil. 

We can call a spade, a spade. Even in opposition.

And I for one, am tired of ignoring that. 

No amount of books I write, or stages I get to, or connections I make will ever change that our world is broken and creation is groaning. But what I can change is how I show up for all of you everyday. How I love each of you, even if deep down you disagree with me or hate me or people like me. I can invite you into knowing Jesus, the hope beyond all things.

I got that message yesterday from a friend of mine on here. 

It rings true for me for a lot of people. (Not all)

I’ve seen the guru, get rich quick, fake wealthy posts on here more and more, and it’s draining.

We AI the profile picture, we GPT the posts, we schedule the empty polls, we 💩 post for engagement farming, we tell people to comment the buzzword, but what happened to going deep and giving value? 

“No aaron this platform is for work and so I can make money off of people, why would we do that?”

Idk 🤷 maybe cuz this world is hungry for authenticity and genuine leadership, and if you really want to call yourself a Thought Leader, then start actually being one.
