I explore and document our apparent, collective Shift out of an egoic state of consciousness (based on separation) to that of a more expanded and essential one in spirit (based on connection). I see the many global crises facing humanity as the birth pangs of this Shift from one paradigm to another. We have the keys to successfully manage this transition and their implementation is a process known as conscious evolution. We are the first species to be able to consciously adapt in the most efficient and effective ways in order to ensure we continue to advance and to do so in a sustainable manner. We are also quickly approaching the event horizon of the technological Singularity by which nearly every imaginable barrier or limitation may one day be transcended. By the incredible possibilities afforded by emerging technology and our shift into a more functional state of consciousness (so we cease using our technology to kill each other or poison our planet and instead find harmony, alignment, and mutual purpose), humanity may indeed transcend all our dysfunction as well as every other obstruction in the way of reaching our highest potential. We can create Utopia on Earth and we can travel and live among the stars. We will be the ascended species we always believed was "out there" and hoped would one day save us—only we are right here and we will save ourselves. If all the evolution of the universe has led to us and we are now the conscious agents of evolution with direct control over our own outcomes, why should we choose any less than to realize our highest potential?
