Originally from Canada, I enrolled in the University of Melbourne in 2011 to be in the first cohort of the Doctor of Optometry program. I graduated in 2014 in a class of 22 and started working in an independent optometry setting. After getting a taste for small community private practice, I became a private contractor and started working for more corporate-level businesses. This opened up a world to me that required business know-how in terms of ground tactics as well as 20,000 ft in-the-air strategy – both of which I've continuously been developing since I started my private business in 2017. I've worked harder than I've ever worked in my life but the trade-off is Director-level freedom to steer this business in whatever way I see fit.
