​Abraham Augustine is a Nigerian person, journalist and digital economy researcher obsessed with digital economies in emerging markets and Europe. As a journalist, he ​covers African startups, the investors who back them, the problems they run into, and the regulators ​they fight, collaborate or collude with. He is the creator of Money Myths Africa and co-founded trendsAf, a data and research collective, to collate, analyse and transform data, research and policy assessment​s​ into insight showing how Africa’s digital economy interacts with physical and cultural systems. In 2022, he was selected as one of 35 global journalists for the 5th Cohort of the Entrepreneurial Journalism Creators Program, offered by the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at City University New York. I am enjoying this exciting juncture in my career, where I am able to combine my creative, analytical and business profiles - working as separate entities and combining them where opportunities arise to do so.
