Assisted the Materials Manager to procure Capex  Materials for 209 Standard Rooms, 25 Executive Suite, 37 Club Rooms and 14 Themed Suites.

•	Selection of Supplier: Selection of Supplier was Keystone then as the project was time bound and there was no compromise on the quality. Quotes were invited from the Vendor’s, comparatives were prepared and then the order was awarded.

•	Advising and coordinating: Coordination involved detailed discussion and recommendations with the Financial Controller to sanction funds. Also, getting the YES from the technical team. Releasing the Purchase Order and ensuring timely delivery to the stores.


•	Approval: Visiting Stores to verify material specification and approve the purchase orders

•	Orion Operations: As the whole hotel procurement was based on the ERP software “ORION”, I used to operate the ERP. As it was the initiation stage of the hotel operations, I had an opportunity to interact with the Orion team for various code creations and classifications. Post the establishment of the ERP, I handled the “Daily Bazaar” operations which were enabled to procure the daily perishables. The function closed by communicating the orders to the vendors who will deliver the items on  following day

•	Handling Purchases function for the property at the best possible prices at the best available quality produce.

•	Developed the Vendors for all the operating supplies consists of Vegetables, Fruits, Butchery Items, Dairy Products, Paper Supplies, Menus, Stationery items,

Cleaning	Supplies, Toiletries, Guest  Room  Amenities, etc

•	Setting up the Receiving Standards, finalizing the Quality specifications for all the supplies in coordination with the Department Heads and Purchasing manual.

•	Fixing the par-stock level, reorder level for all the items.

•	Member of Purchase Committee formed and headed by the General Manager and in consultation with other members finalized and decided all the vendors for the hotel.

•	Formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Annual Contracts finalized for the supplies consists of Imported Vegetables, Imported Fruits, Local Vegetables and Fruits, Imported Meats, Imported Perishables, Groceries, Bakery Products, Local Meats and dairy products with the selected vendors finalized by the Purchase committees in due accordance with standards set by Central Materials Group (CMG).

•	Posted at Taj Projects office at Bangalore to assist the Commercial Manager to execute the policy decisions that included preparation of Materials Planner,Coordinating with the onsite engineers for better planning and specification of products which are specific to particular sub project i.e. HVAC,STP and other sections as required, inviting the quotations for various items, making comparative analysis and arriving at a formidable conclusion.

•	Participating in the negotiations that follow post-quotation.

•	Preparing Purchase Orders and following it up till the items are delivered on site. Inspecting the items once delivered. If any deviance found then initiating the return order. Coordinating with the Finance office for release of payment if the product is found to be of an acceptable quality.Closing the whole purchase cycle.Reordering the rejected item from an alternative supplier.

•	Alternative vendor development, Vendor rating process, maintenance of the data base, workshop visits which enabled us to know the whole process at vendor’s end.
