Quick tips for #AIAtWork that I wish I knew before starting into this role 

✓ Understand the capabilities of foundational models, Gemini is good at certain tasks, claude at different sets of tasks. Even at tool level, if I'm giving a coding work to Perplexity and Search work to Cursor, it's my fault.

✓ You do not need to improve your coding, it's the Architecture, Design, Structure/Systems and Language skills that you need to improve to work with AI

✓ Here's a hack, search for documentation of B2B AI products, a goldmine summary of what's latest and what's usable and what's to come. 

Someone senior to me once said, "Abhishek, if there's a SOP of it, there will be Agent of it, so understand how to make SOPs and processes" 

Given that I'm still experimenting, I often use AI for use cases that are not for AI, to get a better understanding of limitations. However, one gets best results when you know what the specific task needs: Automations, AI workflow or Agentic Capabilities.

There are two ways to get an opportunity, active and passive. 

Active strategies move faster. If I want to run a career workshop for Statistics students, I can reach out directly to college societies and departments.

But most people aren’t actively searching for new opportunities all the time. Most opportunities are passive, they find you. Here are three ways to prepare for passive ones : 

→ Positioning yourself to where the flow of such opportunities would be high. Joining a team that gets kind of projects you are interested in or being actually physically proximate to opportunities. 
→ Treat casual acquaintances better. Answering a normal question in your LinkedIn DM might end up in the opportunity you are wishing for. 
→ Knowing thyself. As you understand your firm, your team, and your own strengths, you can spot where your core skills, if redeployed, might unlock adjacent opportunities.


As a young professional, keep this in mind:  
You are being evaluated every day and every time. 
People are constantly scoping you for future potential.
