Collaboration creates impact 🌍

The inauguration of the Karolinska ATMP Center in Flemingsberg proved it. 

Over 600 people came together as Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital launched a hub where gene and cell therapies move faster from research to treatment.

So nice to reconnect with many familiar faces after the summer — and to hear voices from academia, healthcare, politics and patient organizations. 

It showed why collaboration is key to unlocking advanced therapies.

Stockholm–Uppsala is already a top tier global cluster in Biopharma R&D, Digital Health/Tech R&D and Life Sciences Manufacturing.  

This new center makes that position even stronger.

A new bridge for Life Science 🤝

Flemingsberg meets Hagastaden through The Park Novum.

So much going on this autumn and I’m finally happy to start communicating what we’ve been working on 🙌

Together with Hemsö, The Park is opening The Park Novum in Flemingsberg, a 600 sqm meeting place for Life Science and Innovation.

Flexible offices, private workspaces, hybrid solutions and event spaces for up to 400 people make it a hub where research and business connect.

This is more than a workplace — it is a bridge between Flemingsberg and Hagastaden, strengthening Sweden’s position as a leading Life Science destination.

The Park Events Sep-Oct

What makes a building “of the year”?

Visitors got to see for themselves inside Forskaren last Sunday 😎

Yesterday the doors at Forskaren opened to the public as I had the pleasure of hosting guided tours together with Britta Stenson during Hagastadens dag.

Over 100 people joined us to explore the building and hear more about Vectura Fastigheter’s plans in Hagastaden and why Forskaren was named Årets Stockholmsbyggnad. 

From the open and susitainable design to the strong focus on life science and collaboration, it was great to share the story behind the walls with so many curious visitors.

A big thank you to everyone who came by — it’s always inspiring to see such interest in both Hagastaden’s development and in Forskaren as a hub for innovation.

They’ll share more about the upcoming Testa Challenge 2026 – an open innovation initiative where tech, data and digital companies can test and verify their solutions in a real bioprocess environment in Uppsala.

It’s a unique opportunity to learn, connect and explore how technology can accelerate the future of bioprocessing and life sciences.

A different kind of embassy visit

This one was all about the science of wine 🍷

Last week I had the pleasure of joining a wine tasting at the Spanish Embassy, hosted by the Association of Spanish Scientists in Sweden - ACES.

What a great mix of culture, research and community — where conversations flowed as smoothly as the wine.

Moments like these remind me how powerful it is when science and society meet in unexpected ways.
