I am an award-winning media and communications professional with nearly 20 years of experience in the journalism and public relations industries. My public relations experience includes leading and working on communications teams at well-known Minnesota companies including Sun Country Airlines and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota. My PR skills and experience have focused on brand journalism, media relations, blog management, travel/tourism content, health content, social impact, corporate social responsibility, racial and health equity, volunteering, and community relations. I have 15+ years of experience as an award-winning television journalist with experience in news writing, storytelling, newscast production, special project producing/reporting/management, political/public affairs journalism, media relations, public relations, social media, strategic communications, team leadership and event planning/management. I’m a solution-driven, active community volunteer and leader in the Greater Twin Cities area serving a variety of nonprofit boards dedicated to building stronger communities through effective volunteer training and authentic storytelling. I'm also a Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer Thriver, diagnosed in September 2021. I'm very open about my journey battling cancer while balancing my roles as a working mother, community volunteer, mentor and leadership professional.
