Reviewed asset transfer (wire, ACH, journals) and low-priced/penny stock trading surveillance alerts for high-risk activity, conducted historical activity reviews, briefed senior compliance management, and prepared case narratives for Suspicious Activity Reports. Coordinated with AML technology to review transaction monitoring and filtering specifications to improve effectiveness. Attained the “Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist” professional certification (ACAMS) in November 2017.

Senior Associate | Financial Crime Compliance Investigations 

Advised and supported compliance management and divisional compliance teams on training programs to prevent, detect, and mitigate compliance, regulatory, and reputational risk across the firm. Owned the Americas AML Compliance training plan, responsible for design, delivery, tracking, and reporting. Configured the learning management system (Cornerstone OnDemand) for separate training initiatives, coordinated enhancement projects (i.e., roadmapping) with external technology vendors, and prepared metrics for senior management and regulators. Facilitated the classroom training of more than 8,000 firm employees on anti-money laundering, anti-bribery/corruption, and sanctions topics in 2013.

Human Intelligence Platoon Leader, Utah National Guard, led 28 soldiers who specialized in detainee interrogations. Deployed to Iraq for Operation New Dawn in 2011, provided daily threat briefings, was the acting Executive Officer for the unit’s redeployment, ensuring 100% of equipment (worth $4.5 million) and personnel (122) returned safely to Virginia. Completed the Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE), prisoner of war and wilderness survival training course.
