My practice is primarily in the area of corporate and commercial law with a particular emphasis on information technology and intellectual property. Over the past decade, I have become a known technology lawyer providing legal counsel to technology based businesses, entrepreneurial and innovative ventures, and organizations intersecting law, technology, and the internet. I have acted for some of Manitoba’s largest companies, all of whom rely on me for sophisticated advice with respect to acquisition, development, use, protection and commercialization of technology and other intellectual property, as well as its privacy law implications. I am a technology lawyer who is experienced with all stages of corporate development, from start-up to financing (venture capital and private) to corporate reorganizations to going public. I am a proud supporter of and counsel to North Forge Technology Exchange, an innovation-based economic development agency and a powerhouse community to fuel Manitoba's innovation economy through collaboration and access to its shared resources. I assisted in the establishment of, and provided counsel to one of its founding parties, AssentWorks, Manitoba's only public makerspace. I also act as counsel for a number of provincial and federal non-profit and charitable organizations.
