Do more interview rounds correlate to a candidate's success in a job?

BYD: Does it really stand for Build Your Dream?

That was my question the first time I saw a car named Build Your Dream parked on the street and connected it with the Chinese electric car company, BYD.

Once upon a time, I thought it would be a good idea to acquire a piece of the EV industry and BYD was my pick. A company with a track record, cars selling well, and the Warren Buffet/Charlie Munger seal of approval.

Since then (~2021), the stock has gone up and down but mostly sideways.

They've sold more cars than Tesla, but at what cost. Recently, discounts have been eating away at their profits. 

People like the cars. And you get value for the price. 

So much value, that Europe and the United States are considering steep tariffs to prevent the influx of $10,000 cars, where the local manufacturers cannot charge much less than $35,000. 

With all this, BYD is looking more like a part of the competitive auto industry and less a part of a cutting-edge, high profit margin high-tech industry. 

Buffet made a bundle with his investment here. But his investment is from 2008.

The investment thesis has changed, so I'm out at a slight loss.
