Adam Sloan MHfed – Industry Leader in Barbering & Hairdressing Adam Sloan is a leading figure in the barbering and hairdressing industry with a career that began in 1979 under the guidance of his father. He founded the Men’s Hairdressing Federation (MHfed) to raise standards in male grooming and promote professionalism in the trade, gaining international recognition. Adam has worked as a platform artist, session stylist, and educator, producing training DVDs and running five salons and two academies delivering NVQ Level 2 and 3 qualifications. He has been instrumental in shaping education within the industry and is a passionate advocate for improving training pathways. A committed campaigner for state registration, Adam serves on the Barber Council and currently chairs the City & Guilds Barbering and Hairdressing Industry Board, helping to align qualifications with industry needs. His achievements have been recognised with a Lifetime Achievement Award from SHABA’s and a historic induction into the Incorporation of Barbers Glasgow Guild—the first in over 300 years. Adam remains dedicated to driving excellence, education, and regulation across the barbering industry in the UK and beyond.
