My story: One time, I started working for a local newspaper, where CEO's mom suddenly appeared in the office and said that the contract we agreed to (with her son) was "unfair for the company" and we should change it immedaitely.. I was angry, dissapointed and embittered that after many weeks of intense job search I landed in this type of place. Long story short, couple days later I decided to quit and never turned back. Another time, there was this (supposedly long-term) job where company hired me along with another team member. All was great, until after 2 months it turned out that they didn't have enough money to pay any of us... we had to take them to court to finally get what we were owed. And if that wasn't bad enough, I got sacked three times! All of these tough experiences and 100+ interviews attended, totally changed my viewpoint on my career and how to approach job search differently. I began to understand that this is a game and you need to firstly understand the rules to break them which led meto testing different ideas, strategies, approaches, value propositions. As a result, I figured out my own way of doing things and every time I wanted to change jobs since 2016, I had received multiple opportunities, sometimes different options (IC vs Manager) with capability to negotiate between the offers. My approach was so different that people started to ask me whether I could help them navigate their career as well. That led to 2023 where I started doing consulting.
