After working in IT Technical Support, I've heard numerous end-users speak about the frustrations of the software and applications they use. From unclear instructions, poor user interface, or plainly not working how it should, the reactive aspect of Technical support did not sit well and I became interested in learning how to prevent these issues and what goes into that process of making "good" software. I decided to complete a Software Engineering boot camp to learn more about how applications are created and to jumpstart my journey into Testing and Quality Assurance by gaining a foundational understanding of programming. During my time in the boot camp, I learned JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and React and gained brief introductions to REST APIs, Postman, and the concepts behind functional testing when creating applications of my own. I even created some pretty cool projects and connect my love of gaming. My experience in Customer Service and Technical Support and previous travels as a spouse of a Veteran have helped me to learn to communicate better and more efficiently with people of all technical backgrounds and speak to them on their level. I've documented and tracked numerous tickets, written detailed descriptions of issues and defects, and recreated, retyped, and repeated the various steps to reproduce issues. I've seen how people actually use software compared to how it's supposed to be used. And after all this, I want to see and learn more.
