Nothing says "fun day out of the office" quite like a matador cape and a muddy field

And I'm impressed. Despite 9 hours of talks and networking, plus the drama of the London tube strike, my energy at 6:30 PM was as high as it had been at 9 AM.

So why was I there? SIPGOOD was shortlisted for a UK Start Up Award earlier this year, sponsored by Ideas Fest. While we didn't win, it was great to be part of the conversation and hear perspectives from other founders. 

The atmosphere in the tents really did feel collaborative and fun, despite the weather. Definitely helped by the delicious lunch from Cabal and Jolly Allotment that kept us warm, fed, and dry for a lovely 90 minutes.

Serious question though… I'm wondering what’s more essential for surviving a British business festival. Wellies or a power bank? I had 1 of 2.

Sober October is around the corner (although I'm still recovering from back to school....).

One of the surprises since launching SIPGOOD has been seeing how different people use it. 

It turns out we have quite a few non-drinkers putting Sipgood into a wine glass as a non-alc replacement. Myself included.

Huge thanks to Denise Hamilton-Mace Kristin Lamb and the team behind Low No Drinker magazine for featuring Sipgood in their last issue.

I'm curious if anyone else is doing this? It's coming up more and more at the moment.

Your brain is 75% water. 

When it’s thirsty, thinking gets harder.

And yet, we spend a lot of time fine-tuning productivity hacks: apps, routines, supplements, sleep, exercise, endless cups of coffee, but forget the simplest one.

Hydration is the quiet third pillar nobody pays attention to.

What’s the first thing you reach for when your focus dips: coffee, snacks, or water?

Don’t get me wrong. I love chocolate. 

The thing is, chocolate is usually seen as a treat. Something you enjoy once in a while (okay, stretching that definition of 'in a while' if you're me...).

Drinks, on the other hand, slip under the radar. A can of Coke has 7tsp of sugar. 

But most people aren't thinking of soft drinks as a dessert. They're thinking of it as a daily ritual, with 1 in 3 Brits drinking 3 or more fizzy drinks a day.

That’s how daily habits sneak in.

When you want something sweet, what do you reach for first: chocolate or a drink?

P.S. Obviously if your taste buds want something nice to drink, drink SIPGOOD. Clearly.
