Key Roles and Responsibilities: 
•	Employee life cycle management from entry to exit.
•	Establishing clear individual performance goals and objectives by formulation and implementation of Goal Forms across different levels of the assigned business unit.
•	Monitoring work progress through Performance Management Process, handling end to end performance appraisal process and ensuring that results are achieved according to performance standards & identification and development of bottom quartile. 
•	Conducting Dipstick Surveys to understand employee pulse and devising actions based on data received. 
•	Employee attrition analysis, risk prediction and planning for future projects accordingly. 
•	First point of contact for addressing employee issues and concerns, measuring employee satisfaction and grievance handling. 
•	Facilitating HR Connects through one-on-one meetings, regular focus group discussions and skip level meetings. 
•	Defining processes / systems for streamlining employee communication, employee retention, performance improvement and discipline. 
•	Closely working with business heads and managing employee relations. 
•	Resolving short term problems with quick actions and focusing on long term improvement plans.
•	Design and assist project lead in programs like Rewards and Recognition (RnR), Individual Development Plan (IDP), Internal Job Postings (IJP). 
•	Conduct induction sessions for new joiners to set right expectations. 
•	Prepare and publish performance dashboards to ensure transparency. 
•	Conduct ESAT (on-line and off-line) activities to keep employees engaged.

Lead Fun @ Work committee for the entire organization along with regular responsibilities 

The objective was to evolve a culture where employees are engaged through regular online and offline fun activities to break the monotony of the daily work schedule. This influences the employee’s motivation, productivity, creativity, teamwork, and satisfaction. A few of the initiatives are listed below:  

•	Liaison with wellness team and celebrated ‘International Yoga Day’ and introduced ‘Lose to Win’ game where employees were motivated to lose weight and stay healthy  
•	Liaison with CSR team and celebrated Diwali with a difference by organizing games and activities for employees to raise funds for our housekeeping and security staff 
•	Introduced ‘Lex Olympics’ under which several sports events were organized among different BUs to promote cross-functional unity and sportsmanship   
•	Organized and celebrated various festivals in office to drive happiness, sense of enjoyment, relaxation and offer the time needed to bond with other team members
•	Launched various online and offline games for employees to break the monotony

I was asked to go home by my boss! 

Back in India, one Ashtmi morning, my boss Manjit Singh told me to go home — not because I did something wrong, but because I forgot to bring puri, halwa, chole for the team.

It had become a tradition. Every Ashtmi after the fasts, I was forcefully “volunteered” to bring the feast. 😆 😁 No matter how much I brought — it was always gone before lunch. Sometimes, even before I reached my desk!

This playful chaos wasn’t new. In school, my lunch was finished during zero period — by me and my school friends. - Purane papi hai hum! 💯 🤣 😜 

Same vibe continued through college and my first decade of work — friends who didn’t ask, just snatched, shared and laughed together.

Then I moved to Canada.

 My role, cabin, and paycheck got bigger. And I’ve made some good friends here too — from different communities, with different ways of connecting.

Here, people don’t snatch lunch. They don’t even share it. Everyone respects space, boundaries, and time zones. It’s not bad — just different.

I miss those messy, loud, food-stealing friendships.

Life changes. Cultures shift. But memories stay.

To all my friends who’ve changed places — what do you miss the most about your hometown or country?

A Heartwarming Moment at HRPA 💙

Yesterday, during the networking session at the HRPA event, a kind lady approached me and asked, “Are you Aman?”

 I said yes, a bit puzzled.

 She smiled and asked, “Did you study at Conestoga College? Did you take HR classes online during COVID?”

 I nodded, still trying to place her.

 Then she said, “I was your professor.”

I was stunned — and honestly, touched. We had never met in person during those virtual classes, yet she remembered me and made the effort to come say hello. What a beautiful reminder of the impact educators have, and the incredible memory and warmth some carry with them.

I’m still wondering — was I really that memorable, or is she just a superwoman with a heart of gold and a memory to match? 😊

Either way, kudos to her!

The Coffee Spill

During a morning meeting, a young employee accidentally spilled coffee on the conference table. Embarrassed, she rushed to clean it up, apologizing repeatedly.

The manager smiled and said,
