frankly.green is a new Crowdinvesting platform that helps green companies and  projects in developing and emerging markets to raise money by selling debt instruments to retail investors, primarily from Germany and soon Europewide. frankly.green is part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
It is directed at entrepreneurs who have a green SME, or want to finance a green project for their business. Following an application and selection process, businesses will be able to use the frankly.green platform to present their offer to the crowd for fundraising. This provides an additional, much needed financing opportunity for SMEs in developing economies with limited access to finance.
At frankly.green we bring together companies that want to go green and investors who put emphasis on environmental protection, local development and financial return.
frankly.green is based in Frankfurt, Germany and currently serving businesses in Ghana, Rwanda, Egypt and Peru.

FS UNEP is a strategic collaboration between United Nations Environment Programme and Frankfurt School. It is UNEP’s main knowledge hub for sustainable energy and climate finance and thereby also known as the Think and Do Tank.

Developing cost-effective ways to reduce carbon emissions from energy supply and use by mobilizing finance for climate and sustainable energy investments. 

Working with financial institutions to develop technical know-how, innovative financing approaches and new forms of entrepreneurial and end-user finance.
