REACH Strategies

Responsible for creating and managing e-mobility and alternative fuels outreach programs with clients in the state of California. Served as point of contact, created agendas, led biweekly meetings, circulated follow up notes, and directed implementation of outreach plans.

-Developed a comprehensive e-mobility communications plan with appropriate personas and messaging through literature reviews, landscape analysis, and dozens of stakeholder interviews spanning CBOs, sustainability directors, and more.

-Facilitated over 5,000 residential conversations on electrification by producing end-to-end an electrification experience center, including the development of several educational resources, at the annual five day Marin County Fair. Coordinated with multiple booth exhibitors, staff, client, host, and vendors.

Lead Communications Strategist

Responsible for managing and supporting e-mobility programs with electric utilities, California community choice aggregators, and government agencies.

-Co-created an innovative virtual event curriculum during the Covid-19 pandemic. Hosted and planned over 40 virtual events working with a wide variety of stakeholders, hosts, and speakers attaining a 99% approval rating from attendees and a 10% conversion rate.

-Produced 7 EV community ride & drives from end-to-end, facilitating over 600 positive first time EV experiences.

-Directed in-house communications and marketing by relaunching the company’s social media and content strategy. Curated a segmented list of over 300 prospective clients. Led a 2021 rebrand.

With several years of experience in marketing and communications, I combine experience, skill, and empathy to create inclusive communications plans that lead to desired outcomes. 

Utilizing a broad range of tactics from experiential in-person and virtual events to relevant content strategies, I'm not afraid of a challenge and relish the opportunity to drive towards goals that leave the planet a better place.

I thrive in small fast-paced environments where I'm able to contribute to the creation of something meaningful. I've helped transition a print marketing agency to digital services, co-created and managed an innovative electric vehicle virtual event curriculum during the COVID-19 pandemic that moved the needle on EV adoption, and designed an annual event for book review bloggers inclusive of the entire publishing industry.

Precise and caring communication matters now more than ever. I'm eager to bring my B2C, B2B, and B2B2C experiences to an organization centering environmental justice and inclusivity.

For fun, I enjoy playing pub trivia, hiking around my beautiful home state of California, and watching/reading horror stories. Maybe one day, I'll even write one!

Earth Day is a celebration and a reminder of all the ways we can work to protect our beautiful home.

Sometimes we lump all the issues together and forget the ways it's also very small and very specific. It's when we draw out these individual stories that we can sometimes find deeper motivation to continue the work.

For a year, I've been volunteering with ReWorld and last year we helped Fundación Proyecto Tití raise the necessary funds to purchase close to 1,000 acres of land to reforest. When I read this write-up from Bill Weir at CNN, I have to admit it made me a little teary.

I became a huge fan of Rosamira Guillen last year. The work Proyecto Tití does isn't glamourous. It's hard and filled with uncertainty. But it's also filled with love and certainty that they are making a difference. For the titis, yes, but also for people.

To my son, born in the climate crisis: These helpers are healing enough Earth to save a species | CNN

Last weekend (already!!) I went to the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. 

This event used to be a regular part of my spring, and was definitely a big part of my life when I was a book review blogger, but one of the great things about books is that no matter what you're into in life, there's a book for that.

Due to Covid and then working/traveling for  Earth Day events, I hadn't been in awhile, so I was excited to return. This year I filled my slate with climate related panels and one horror panel that I snuck in at the end!

I think it's really important as someone who thinks about climate and conservation a lot, to make sure I'm hearing a broad range of perspectives from across the field and not just staying holed up in my own little corner of the world. So I appreciated these panels, one with a couple of LA Times Climate reporters and one with authors.

A couple of key takeaways that I believe myself but feel I heard stated more eloquently here than I have in awhile included:

Individual action matters. When we hear how many problems are systemic and a few corporations are responsible for so much, it's possible to feel despair. But it's important to remember we can create a groundswell of action and as idealistic as it might sound, our little individual actions matter.

Climate change may feel like the urgent issue of our time, but we didn't get here in a vacuum. Many of our systems are broken and we have the opportunity to fix them as we work to learn how to adapt to climate change.

There was also a fair bit of discussion around the language we use when discuss climate change. Should we emphasize climate crisis? Does it matter who we're talking to? (yes). 

Overall, it was wonderful to be back at this event and to have panels dedicated to my current interests. I also saw the power of an event like this to communicate with the community across various issues and topics. I definitely bought books and discovered Heyday Books, a small indie publisher that seems right up my alley right now.
