I’ve been passionate about sports my entire life. As a kid, I grew up playing Judo all the way through university. After graduating, I joined the corporate world and worked with some big FMCG’s like Henkel and Unilever; however, my passion for sports and fitness never really faded away Working long hours at my corporate job, I gained a lot of weight and my health deteriorated. I felt it getting worse year after year until I decided that I need to do something about it. I was 24 but I felt like an out of shape 40 year old. I started by joining some CrossFit class at the local CrossFit Box since it was the hottest thing in town back then. Bit by bit, I got hooked. I started training before work and after work. I enjoyed the sport, the people, and most importantly I enjoyed the feeling of being fit again. The rate I was improving at was super fast so I decided to learn more about the science of what we’re doing. I seeked mentorship from my coach at the time (Coach Ramy) and he held nothing back. He recommended books, mentored me one on one, and I even started assisting around the gym. After a little while, I decided to make the leap and transition into coaching full time. I discovered that this is where my passion really lies. For the next 7 years, I spent the time travelling and learning from different coaches around the world. I’ve coached hundreds of hours and helped thousands of people attain their fitness goals. The joy that comes from helping a person do their first pull-up, drop a few sizes, or see the numbers improve on their blood test report is something I cherish and it’s the reason that I do what I do.
