In reality, most Social strategies still mean: Instagram. TikTok. Maybe YouTube.
Everything else gets ignored.

Which is wild - because Reddit is now bigger than TikTok in the UK.

And yet it rarely even makes the conversation.

What’s changing:
• Reddit threads now surface directly via Google and AI search
• Gen Z and Gen Alpha are actively seeking lived experience, nuance and human insight
• Context and credibility are winning

But most brand strategies are still optimised for scroll, not intent.

Reddit works because people organise around interests, not algorithms.

That’s where honest language, real pain points and actual demand live.

At the same time, search and social are collapsing into one behaviour.

Content built for usefulness and discussion doesn’t just perform once - it keeps working.

Yes, TikTok still wins on reach.
But Reddit, Pinterest etc win on decision-making.

So if your social strategy only considers the “usual suspects,” this shift should worry you.

People don’t just want to be entertained.
They want to learn, discuss and belong.

The real question isn’t “what’s trending?”

I’ve had the chance to speak about social media marketing, women’s voices in business, and my very non-linear journey - from linguist, to expat, to marketing fairy, to wellness addict.

Just space to think properly, deep work and come up with some ideas that are really going to move the needle forward!


I started it with a short walk outside because January energy needs help wherever it can get it.

Even if it is -8 😅

Quiet days like this don’t look productive if you were to look at my calendar but they’re usually where the best work actually starts.

Anyone else aiming to establish meeting-free days?

This year I refuse to dip on my 3 key metrics

Sleep. 
Activity. 
Stress.

Because every time those numbers tank, my creativity & problem-solving do too.

By the time the performance of a post shows up in our monthly reports, it’s already a lagging indicator.

The quality of the work was decided weeks earlier - by sleep, stress, and how much thinking time people had.

The most reliable performance indicators I’ve found don’t live in analytics tools.

They live in recovery, energy, and space to create.

For me, it’s not a wellness take. It’s a systems one.

If we want better work, better strategy, and better leadership, we need to stop treating human capacity as an afterthought - and start measuring what actually predicts quality.

Most teams don’t have a performance problem. They have an inputs problem.

And the best thing is, if you look after one, the other can thrive even by itself

Veganuary is dead. (Pardon the pun)

For a while, Veganuary felt like a moment.
A collective “let’s try something new.”

Between 2019 and 2021 brands went all in. Supermarkets restructured aisles. Fast food chains raced to prove they got it.

That’s the thing about moments though: they have shelf lives.

Plant-based eating is still kicking, and Veganuary is still around…allbeit in the background.

Because culture did what culture always does. It absorbed the trend, and moved on.

Veganuary did what trends do: It shifted awareness, lowered barriers, and made something niche feel normal.

Some trends feel permanent when you’re living inside them.
But this is what the end of a trend cycle actually looks like - not disappearance, but quiet integration.

The best social teams are built from people who live in culture.

From people who scroll, save, and observe without being told to and who are notice shifts in humour, formats and references before everyone else.

That’s the difference between trend-chasing and culture-led work.

Culture-led teams don’t ask, “What should we post?” They ask, “What’s already happening and where do we fit?”

When you pay attention early, strategy gets much simpler to integrate. It becomes the default response to the world around us.

So if you’re building a social team, hire for curiosity first.

The rest can be taught. 🧚‍♀️
