The Sai Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) - An ICT Enabled Knowledge Institute for Empowering People - is an initiative of Yuva Gramya Vikas Samiti (YGVS) registered under Societies Registration Act 21, 1860 and Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 1976 with a view to take care of interests and overall development of rural populace in India. The Sai Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) has been founded by a strong team of professionals who have sufficient exposure in the public domain, academics, social work and private sector at the higher echelons with a commitment to translate their knowledge and expertise into Endeavour to accelerate the pace of rural development. Our Institute is engaged in various range of activities. One of those is Gramin Gyan Kendra, a program run by IIT-BHU, Varanasi and funded by Media Lab Asia, Deptt. of Information Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi which aims at the livelihood security of the farmers in the rural area. Our organization has also been engaged in other projects of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs, NCRI (Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India) and CAPART, Ministry of Rural Development etc. For the present SIRD is focusing on the livelihood generation activities by creating business opportunities in the rural areas itself.
