I have always been curious .....even as a child. I would lift a rock on the beach, to see what was underneath, and I was more likely than not to look at the rock itself. Fast forward some decades and I strangely enough have a large collection of minerals, rocks, fossils and stone tools. I started off professional life as an electronic engineer. Turns out, I never had a good understanding of current, but I did have good communication skills and intuitive feeling for "systems". It turns out I was a better Technical Sales person than a design engineer, so I went on to have a successful career in Sales and Sales Management in semiconductors, via Burr Brown, Maxim, Linear Technology and Analog Device. I have run Countries....from Northern Europe to Russia to Israel. I have built teams of Sales and Application Engineers that were stable and delivered above Company growth, over decades. I have been responsible for Sales budgets from a high of $200m, to a low of $0 ie no revenue budgeted for. The "no revenue budget" was to generate "intrigue" in a leading edge, TRL5, nano-material product, to potential customers, for a technology start-up. In the Technology world, I find my skillset is pretty unique. It's a combination of experience in technology Sales and Business Development , combined with unusually good skills in social networking. I enjoy understanding target ecosystems, from IoT, to Automotive, to 5G, to Nano-Technology. Identifying the players within the ecosystem and building relationships, and opening doors. I have pretty good social networking skills on the LinkedIn Platform. I use LinkedIn in an "Applied" way. I am a LinkedIn "Top Sales Voice" and my SSI is in the Top 1%. I believe my usage of LinkedIn as a Social Networking and Social Selling platform within the world of Technology is unique. The combo of my semiconductor experience and my skills in "Applied LinkedIn" are rare. I enjoy teaching Technology Companies how to use LinkedIn "properly"....but there has to be a recognition, of a need to improve their customer facing staffs usage of LinkedIn. Its time to find my final role ......lets make it something where I can leverage my experience and my social networking skills, to help your commercialisation targets.
