I worked in the analysis team within the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA), the government’s centre of expertise for infrastructure and major projects.  I wrote R code which automated the production of letters to send to the heads of major government projects, providing analysis of their projects and data-driven insights, in order to increase their chances of successful delivery.  I also produced a presentation analysing the impacts of Covid-19 on the government’s major projects.  This was sent to the head of project management in each government department and the managers of the government’s 125 major projects, including HS2 and Universal Credit.

Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)

I worked in the energy statistics team. Within the department, the energy statistics team publishes official statistics and provides analysis on energy efficiency, consumption and more.  My main achievements/responsibilities were:

•	Developed a method to estimate the savings of energy efficiency measures e.g. boilers, smart meters
•	Created R scripts to automate the production of statistical tables 
•	Produced statistical tables for publication in SAS and Excel
•	Provided ad-hoc analysis of our data for other people in the department

I worked in a team where I served food to the customers and ensured good customer satisfaction. Since the restaurant was often busy, I gained experience working in a high-pace environment, and it meant I had to communicate clearly with my colleagues.
