Independent Experience Designer

I worked with The Department of Transport on a number of initiatives for the myki system. This role required a lot of proactivity to bring the customer's voice into the design process. My day-to-day was spent coming up with research plans, quick testing ideas, mapping user flows, or working closely with the UI designer to make improvements for the myki app and PTV website.

This was a unique project, where I got to work very closely with the client in a consultancy model. The client, OFX, a fintech based in Sydney with offices globally came to Paper Giant as they wanted to elevate their product offering for their corporate customers.

Subsequently, Paper Giant broght me onboard to be the liasor and representative of the agency with the client. My role was to help OFX navigate the process of research to uncover and understand pain points and opportunies in their current offering.

This was an intensive 8-week project that involved planning, excecution and anaylsis of remote customer research combined with workshops with teams across the US, UK, HK, and Australia.

Paper Giant

Short engagement to work on the Lilydale Chicken account. The project was to create a micro-app that allowed people to scan the products in the supermarkets via a QR code and access curated recipes to enjoy at home.

Hardhat

As the only designer in the digital team, my role here involved leading multiple projects at once and working with two product teams.

I spent half of my time leading the design process of the new Sydney-resort website, adding new components to our design system, and working with developers to maintain it. The other half of my time was spent designing new features for Crown’s iOS and Android app.

Crown is a company going through a phase of change and this gives everyone an opportunity to bring new perspectives, so during my time there I took it upon myself to advocate for better design practices, UX research, and educating stakeholders about design.

Projects: Click and Collect, Ratings and Reviews, MarketLink

At AKQA, I worked as an Experience Designer for the Bunnings account. This unique role gave me the opportunity to work in a product-like structure within an agency environment. This gave us a chance to collaborate with with the client, co-locating in their offices, and forming a unique partnership that allowed for better results.

While working in this account I took part in one of the biggest digital transformations in the Australian retail industry. My team and I helped to shape the Click & Collect experience for Bunnings customers, something crucial for the long term sustainability of the business.

I also worked alongside the client in the process of ideation, testing, and design of Bunnings MarketLink – A marketplace that gave Bunnings' customers access to thousands of new products online and opened the door to new revenue streams.

Details: My role at Codeware was to bring my UX knowledge and UI expertise to the team and their clients. With a strong focus on product development, we work collaboratively among different areas of the business in order to bring perspective and value to each project.

Helping the company refine and consolidate their own visual style. My work allowed PLGRM materialise a brand style guide and collateral. Alongside, I also developed a subsidiary brand – PLGRM Media – A project that came as result of the rapid growth of the group.

I moved to Australia in April 2010 from Venezuela – I was 18 years old. 

One suitcase and the dream to become a designer. 

Today, that dream has materialised in a decade of experience working for an array of local and international brands.

While my journey begins as a Monash Graphic Design graduate, my career has evolved towards experience and digital design. A trade that I hold dearly because it allows me, to create work that is both functional and pixel-perfect.
