Senior Software Engineering Manager

GE Power

Manager of the CAD-Model Based & Data, Software and Analytics teams accountable of:
- At GE Gas Power,  I manage the Commercial Computer-Aided Design (CAD) & Software Development for Analytics, data visualization to deliver customer value.
- Interface with client's executive team to define business goals and translate them to business strategies.
- Lead a sub-section which develop and deploy the strategies for building software products for mutliple teams in engineering, manufacturing and field service teams in the Gas Power business.
- Lead and assure Operational Excellence measured by agreed KPI targets.
- Lead the Digital strategy for the Power organization in Mexico @GEIQ, having impact for new global opportunities. 
- Develop skilled teams, technical capabilities, and defined scope for the organization as needed (roles, responsibilities) to sustain the organic growth.
- Successfully delivered engineering productivity savings, cost-out efforts to maximize business profits.
- Establish lean processes for delivering software to engineering teams and assured high quality.

I executed a dual assignment along with my global Software Engineering Manager position to sustain the Power business organization in Mexico @GEIQ.  I assured the IT requirements to comply both global and local  responsibilities as follows:
- Strengthen the safety culture to enable and employee security with the implementation of actionable tactics that exceeded results on company employee surveys.
- Manage product performance thru implementation of quality and timeliness metrics to drive continuous improvements.
My teams were responsible of:
• Support the harmonization of Piping & Instrumentation symbology in AVEVA platform for Gas Power
• Provide on demand support of Engineering 2D/3D projects for global engineering teams.
• Decommission of legacy SmartPlant infrastructure to cost out expenses and enable business profits.

Software Engineering Manager

GE Aviation

CAD Manager for Aviation and Power businesses
Results-oriented leader of the corporate CAD software including advanced high-end CAD/CAM/CAE for multiple businesses at GE.
• Manage a team that provides software support more than 6,000 users in Aviation and Power businesses. 
• Responsible of the implemention a new coporate licenses for GE. It required a complex migation of products, users from legacy systems.
• Enable a strategic colaboration to have a scalable license model for more than 13,000 global users 
• Developed integrations between a GE PLM system and a commercial software to optimize 3D data consumption of more than 60K files in a 3D PDF format to enable Model Based Enterprise strategy.
•  Migrate 1MM of legacy CAD parts to a corporate repository in GE Power to avoid data complaince
• Create an application tool 80% faster to simplify the customer drawing creation process in the Gas Power Aero team that improved drawing creation.
• Deploy high end CAD software for Aviation with a reduction of cycle time from nine to six months. It  was the smoothest software release made by the Aviation Digital Engineering Systems (DES) in two years.

Technical Team Manager

As a Team Manager for the CAD software, I was responsible of multiple teams to manage and deliver effective level 3 and level 2 for sustaining Energy global operations.  The teams reported results on dotted line to me and the Engineering Tools Center of Excellece: 
• Support budget and day to day planning to ensure teams meets the annual objectives agreed with  both internal and external engineering customers.
• Focus on development and implementation of project plans to satisfy customer business requirements and project commitments.
• Responsible to present requirements and results to multiple levels of leadership.
• Manage multiple, simultaneous software and infrastructure projects of varying scope, size and complexity to meet business goals, quality standards and financial outcomes.
• Implement  complex IT projects to satisfy customer expectations.
• Work with the appropriate IT teams on Network, Infrastructure and Sustaining teams to build and validate the digitized solutions.
• Present technical tollgate reviews to assure on delivery of technical outcomes and quality standards.
• Report  cost benefit analysis of multiple projects and initiatives in my scope.

Technical Manager

As a Program Manager for the Services Process Engineering (SPE) team,  I lead and collaborate closely with the Power Services and the Information Management (IM) organizations by digitizing our internal engineering processes.
Main programs to highlight include:
• Migration of a program data from ERP to corporate project platform, which included complex data migration and track of costs for New Projects into the new corporate application. The productivity savings for this project were calculated in $1MM USD  per year. 
•  Development of Line of Balance (LOB) automation process for the Industrial team to consolidated multiple sources of information into a single source of truth. The migrated data was used to calculate the LOB metrics and generated automatic reports, metrics and dashboards with a result in productivity savings of $600K USD.
• Development of a tool for the Power commercial team. It migrated more than 14K legacy commercial proposals in PDF format and eliminated a manual processes which resported savings of $1.5MM USD.

Program Manager

Data Services' Leader in  the IT department and being responsible in the following areas, Storage and Servers infrastructure, Software development and database administration.
Responsible for defining, planning,and performing projects in an efficient manner and working closely with upper management.
Lead my team to create a solid organization establishing and meeting goals and commitments using project management methodology to close projects on time and keep budget under control.

IT Data Services Leader

Responsible to implement and maintain high availability storage, servers and backup infrastructure and solutions for GE Infrastructure Queretaro. I coordinated the strategy for the site to implemente a disaster recovery site.
• Direct successfully a major consolidation project with reduction of more than 100 servers into a single high availability farm of servers.
• Reduce performance time in the vouchering system by 50% and generated more than $750K USD in savings by the introduction of a blade server technology.
• Lead and implement a server consolidation using the VMWare virtualization software and high availability storage  to report  savings of $1MM USD and a ROI in 6 months.
• Create a standard process to stop the high availability infrastructure automatically in case of emergencies. The automation reduced  the shutdown time of the whole infrastructure to 5 minutes. The new process was used as part of the Disaster Recovery Plan for the IT team.

IT Support Specialist

Responsible for providing support to Aviation and Power businesses on software and hardware problems faced by engineer customers in Unix and Windows environments.
