I'm a lead engineer and software architect with more than 16 years of working experience in creating amazing digital products in various business domains, relying on outstanding teams and taking advantage of web-oriented and cloud-native technologies. I’m a collaborative leader and a passionate developer, encouraging communication and best practices during every phase of the software development lifecycle. My favorite working tool is the whiteboard. I love to work in a team and I have an extensive experience in managing and mentoring software developers, especially with agile methodologies. I contributed to create several products, from their inception to their maintenance phases, giving heavy contributions to deliver evolutionary architectures and leverage legacy systems migrations. I have deep expertise in hiring and interviewing candidates, helping companies to create amazing teams. My main objective as a leader is to have team members I can completely trust, in order to delegate non-trivial tasks and concentrate on more complex activities. When it’s needed, I improve organizational processes in the company with better tools and methodologies, because I think that a human brain is too precious to be wasted in doing something that can be easily automated. Apart from technical teams, I often spend my time with different company divisions, including product design, marketing and sales as I like to be contaminated about other product aspects, analyzing not only the technical point of view but also understanding what the product vision really is. My technical specialties fall mainly in designing, developing and delivering complex systems with Java and their frameworks and tools. In the last years, I worked closely with microservices architectures and cloud-native applications, mainly based on Docker, Kubernetes and the related ecosystems. I embrace DevOps culture, helping projects to put in place or simply improve their Continuous Integration/Delivery workflows, increasing the product release quality and frequency. I’m a bit (too) curious and I like experimenting with new practices and frameworks, although I always feel fascinated by the great ideas of the past. In my free time, I fly FPV drones, creating cinematic video productions. I also like to build robots and automated systems in my own maker space, solving common needs in the home automation and pervasive computing domains.
