It’s not okay to leave your job after 1 year or 3 years or 6 years.  

It’s just not okay. 

“YEARS” is not the right criteria to flag leaving a job or company. 

Factors you should consider are:
1) Feeling stuck, unchallenged or unmotivated.
2) Toxic work environment and/or relationships. 
3) Lack of professional development.
4) Inequality and/or unfair pay. 

The moment your work negatively impacts your mental or physical health, it’s time to go! 

No job title, amount of money or status will ever outvalue your personal health. 

Your value and achievements matter, not your years of loyalty to an organization that isn’t serving you anymore.

Early on in my life, I tried to avoid discomfort.

A 14-year-old young lady who landed a 900 during a skateboard competition.

A 900 is a 2 ½ revolution or 900-degree aerial spin on a skateboard ramp.

Only boys would dare to do it. WRONG.

Hooray for girls naturally proving society wrong. 

Gender is never a hindrance to success.

“I need to be a bestseller.”

I wrote THAT down. See the word, “need”?

Then I identified the impact of that thought:
👉🏻 I’d be able to serve people.
👉🏻 People would respect me.
👉🏻 I’d be proud of myself.

But then I caught myself thinking…

Aren’t I already serving people?
Can’t I already be proud of myself for what I’ve accomplished?
Isn’t it true that the people who matter the most already respect me?
You see, I’m such a high-achiever and I’ve always been a striver.

And the truth is, I’m super hard on myself.

So this is something I remind myself of often, and can be useful for you too— 
Your worth is not tied to your accomplishments. 
You’re already WORTHY just by being YOU.

I think I’d easily consider this as one of the best experiences in my career. 

The crazy part is, I applied for a talk last year and was waitlisted. Truly humbled 🤧

So even after I was accepted this year, I wasn’t confident at all. 

Up until the last moment before I got on the podium, I was wondering if all of the work I had put in would actually show and pay off 😅

Despite all these doubts, I found myself on stage…

And I wasn't scared anymore. I was EXCITED. I spent 13 incredible minutes in front of people who were really happy to see me, who held on to every word I had so carefully prepared and written.

All that to say, sometimes your doubts are just lying to you.

Listen folks, the gifted company branded coffee mugs are not making anyone feel valued. 

More often than not, the intangible benefits make the most impact. 

Strong teams don’t run on random perks, they run on their needs being met.

You’re right, you’ll never be enough.




Before you raise your brows, get mad and drop a crazy comment, please listen up.

I hate to break it to you but, you’ll never be enough if you continue being a people pleaser. 

And if you keep on violating your boundaries.

This was a hard pill for me to swallow in my 20s. 

(P.S. If you’ve already set boundaries, pat yourself on the back because that’s hard enough and the first step towards more happiness!) 

If you want to be enough for yourself, your family, your team… you must first invest in yourself.

Creating boundaries and standing firm on them is just one way. Here are other ideas:

→ Read more books, learn and apply to your life accordingly.
→ Listen to your body, rest when you feel you need it.
→ Follow leaders that align with your values.
→ Negotiate your worth and accept nothing less. 

If you don’t do it for yourself, no one else will.

Remember, your worth isn't measured by others' approval, but by the respect you show yourself.

How do you want your story to continue?

You don’t get what you want. And you’re frustrated, now what? 

Here’s a tip you can use but only 7% of people dare to do this.

The people who receive optimal results — ASK QUESTIONS.

If you genuinely want to understand a situation deeper or educate yourself on a certain topic, you need to learn how to ASK. 

Avoid surface level questions that will give you a “yes” and “no” response. 

Aim for open-ended questions before leading to your talking points.

Here’s the powerful move: Use the words, “Tell me more about…[insert topic]”

By doing so, you’re giving the other person a chance to share their thoughts and interests, allowing you to gather information to leverage your ask, first-hand.

This framework will help you get more of what you want and likely walk away with a win-win conclusion.

Folks, we’ve been taught wrong.

Negotiation isn’t a battle.

It’s steering relationships → building great connections.
It’s being curious → understanding the other person.
It’s being intentional → knowing what you want to achieve.
It’s being respectful → allowing the other person to share. 

The next time you negotiate, remember these things and you’ll have a better chance of closing a deal and feeling relieved

Leadership should be measured by HOW you make your team feel.

HOW many others have you inspired to pursue their own dreams, not just support yours. 

Understanding the difference is crucial.

Want more confidence? Change your mindset. 

You can’t avoid uncomfortable conversations, that’s just life! 

Whether you’re asking for a raise, leaving your company after 20 years or setting a boundary with your boss… it’s tough. 

When you realize that these conversations are also important to the other person, it becomes much easier for you to honestly express yourself and leave the conversation feeling relieved. 

Communicating through the awkwardness isn’t as bad as it seems.

If you feel burnt out, you did that to yourself.

Most people I counsel say they’re burnt out— they used to love what they do, but dread their work now. 

What we don’t realize is that you often give in to others' requests NOT thinking about the effects on you long term— extra stress, resentment, anxiety and anger, after a while, can damage your health.

It’s time to SET BOUNDARIES.

We all need it.

When you set boundaries, you let the other person know that you value yourself and them as well.

If both of you know your boundaries, you can work in harmony because you’re in a great state of mind.
