Why does your startup that didn't make a profit need to file an extension?

1️⃣ You can't claim R&D tax credits for payroll on a late tax return
2️⃣ States will charge you a penalty for a late tax return (FL is $400)
3️⃣**Super important for international founders** IRS Penalties for not timely filing informational reports related to foreign activity start at $10,000 per form.

2. An S-Corp might not actually save you money and actually result in more taxes paid in total.

24 hours until taxes are due. File your extension.  

Also, remember that an extension is an extension to file not an extension to pay so make sure you pay all your taxes by April 15th

🧛‍♂️ One of the most dangerous thing for companies has to be what I call vampire subscriptions as the cash a company has is its life blood. 🦇 

This can be anything from 👨‍💻  software, to 💼  services or 🏢 even real estate that isn't being used, hasn't been used for a while and yet you continue to pay for it.

This is a popular time of year to see a lot of subscriptions getting renewed and some founders simply allow for them to auto renew without checking if:
1️⃣ Is anyone at the company actually using it?
2️⃣ Are there other systems / services that you are using that are providing the same service?
3️⃣ Is there something better that will give you a better value?
4️⃣ Can it be improved?

Just yesterday we were able to help 4 companies find a software subscription that they had been paying for something that was for the most part not used by anyone at the firm and also already included at no cost with a different platform that they have.

Total saves for the 4 companies (97 employees in total) over $12,500 per year. You do this a couple of times a year and it can be $100,000 a year, what could you do with an extra developer or simply $100,000 to help extend your runway.
